Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Nolan Arenado might need surgery on finger
Rockies infielder Nolan Arenado didn’t need X-rays to tell him he broke his finger Friday; he knew it when it happened.
"When I slid into the bag, I kind of knew I broke it. I knew right away," Arenado told MLB.com Saturday. "It didn't feel good. As I was on the base, it started tightening up, so I just had a bad feeling about it."
Arenado was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, but will likely need much more time than that before he is able to return. He will miss at least a month of a mallet fracture in his left middle finger, and might end up having to undergo surgery. He will see a surgeon in Cleveland Friday to determine the proper course of action
"I've heard the surgery can speed up the recovery, so obviously I'm all for whatever's going to help get me out there a lot quicker," Arenado said. "So if that's going to be the key, I'm all for it. But I just want to do what I've got to do to rehab and make sure I'm 100 percent so when I come back, I'm ready to go."

Cody Asche dealing with hamstring injury
Phillies third baseman Cody Asche was out of the starting lineup Saturday due to lingering tendinitis in his left hamstring, according to MLB.com.
"Nothing severe," Asche said. "I've been playing through it for about six or seven games. I don't think the training staff really liked the way it was headed, so we're just trying to kill it right now. We've got a pretty important stretch right now."
Asche is considered day to day at this point, though it doesn't sound like he will miss much time.

Arenado left the game in the top of the second inning with a broken finger on his left hand. More details are not known at this point, but MLB.com reports infielder Josh Rutledge was pulled from Friday's game with Triple-A Colorado Springs, possibly portending a roster move following the game.

Pedro Alvarez 3B | MIA
Pedro Alvarez dropped in the order
The Pirates moved third baseman Pedro Alvarez down in the lineup Friday, with manager Clint Hurdle citing disappointment in Alvarez production out of the leadoff spot so far.
"The production hasn't matched up with the opportunities," Hurdle told MLB.com.
Though Alvarez has 24 RBI on the season, the majority (15) have come on his eight home runs. He has left 100 runners on base in the season. Alvarez's struggles in the cleanup spot are not limited to this season, as he is a .250 hitter for his career as a No. 6 hitter, compared to just .192 at No. 4.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Jean Segura slams three hits in loss to Braves
Brewers shortstop and leadoff hitter Jean Segura didn't do enough to help his team win at Atlanta on Thursday, but he did plenty. He doubled, singled twice, scored twice and stole his ninth base of the season.
Segura singled and scored in the first, then doubled and scored in the third. He has lifted his batting average from .240 to .262 since May 4.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Anthony Rendon gets a day off Wednesday
Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon was not in the team's starting lineup Wednesday against the Reds.
Rendon received a normal day of rest. Kevin Frandsen got the start at third in his place. Rendon has slumped badly in May, and it may just be a mental day off for the 23-year-old. Rendon is hitting .267/.315/.444 in 180 at-bats.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Nolan Arenado walks off with game-winning double
Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado snapped out of his slump with a three-hit game Tuesday, but it was the last that really made an impact in a 5-4 win over the Giants.
Arenado went 3 for 5 in the game with two RBI, both of which came on his last swing of the game. He drove in the tying and winning runs in the ninth inning, on a walkoff double.
Arenado got his batting average back to .300, after it had fallen below for the first time Sunday. He is hitting .301/.327/.486 in 183 at-bats on the season.
