Brewers shortstop Jean Segura was removed from Saturday's game due to leg cramps, the team announced.
Segura went 1 for 3 and scored a run but was replaced by a pinch runner after grounding into a fielder's choice in the sixth inning. He has hit .244/.277/.333 with four home runs, 22 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 303 at-bats.

Padres waiver acquisition Irving Falu is active for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks, while infielder Jace Peterson has been sent to Triple-A El Paso.
Falu was placed on waivers by the Brewers before the Padres claimed him Thursday. He was 0 for 10 with the Brewers but hit .306/.364/.361 with one home run, 10 RBI and seven stolen bases in 144 at-bats with Triple-A Nashville.
Peterson is 5 for 50 with two stolen bases in 23 games with the Padres.

Anthony Rendon plays role of hero in Washington win
There was no doubt about the offensive star for the Nationals against the Cubs in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday. It was third baseman Anthony Rendon, who had his bat and legs involved in every run.
Rendon doubled and scored in the sixth, then tripled in a run and scored in the eighth. He also had a single to fall a home run short of the cycle and sweeten a fine stat line to .282/.341/.485.

Start of Nolan Arenado rehab stint moved up to Saturday
The Rockies are rushing third baseman Nolan Arenado right along. He was to begin a rehab assignment Sunday, but will start his minor league stint Saturday night instead at Triple-A Colorado Springs, the Denver Post has reported.
Arenado had been a key cog in the Colorado attack before going down with a broken finger sustained on May 23. He will assume a fine .305/.333/.489 stat line upon his return.

Nolan Arenado beginning assignment Sunday
Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado's batting practice session went well Friday, and he has been cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment.
Arenado is working his way back from a broken finger that has kept him out for more than a month. He will begin his assignment at Triple-A Colorado Sunday according to the Denver Post, and should stay there for at least a few days before the team considers bringing him back.

Nolan Arenado happy to be nearing rehab assignment
Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado expressed optimism about the current pace of his recovery from a broken finger that has kept him out since May 23.
That optimism stemmed from his Thursday activity, including hitting off a tee and taking fielding practice. He is closing in on a rehab assignment and might be back on the field for Colorado by the July 4 game against the visiting Dodgers.
"I'm getting really close to returning," Arenado told the Denver Post.
The Rockies can certainly use Arenado, who hit off a tee Thursday and hopes to take regular batting practice Friday. He was enjoying a breakthrough season, as his .305/.333/.489 stat line attests.

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado continues to make excellent progress in his recovery from a finger injury, as he was cleared to take swings for the first time Thursday.
Arenado hit off a tee for the first time Thursday, after he was first cleared to swing a bat just three days ago. According to the Denver Post, Arenado will take batting practice for the first time Friday, and hopes to be cleared for a rehab assignment in the minors within the next week.

Anthony Rendon homers, steals base in win Tuesday
Nationals infielder Anthony Rendon went 3 for 7 with a solo home run and a stolen base in his team's 4-2, 16-inning win over the Brewers Tuesday.
Rendon tied the game with his eighth-inning home run, and neither team would break through with another run until Ryan Zimmerman smacked a two-run homer in the top of the 16th. Rendon has slugged six of his 12 home runs in June, and he owns a .276/.336/.479 line with 43 RBI and six stolen bases in 290 at-bats.

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado said Monday that he has been cleared to grip a bat, though he's still prohibited from taking any swings, MLB.com reports.
On the disabled list since late May, Arenado is recovering from a finger injury, and recent X-rays showed no structural damage to the finger. He has hit .305/.333/.489 with six home runs and 28 RBI in 190 at-bats.

Alvarez was facing a bit of a power dry spell, with his last home run coming back on June 3, before launching a ball over the center field fence Monday. He has hit .232/.318/.402 with 12 home runs and 38 RBI in 271 at-bats.
