White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Makes return from IL

The White Sox reinstated Moncada (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Chicago has yet to unveil its lineup ahead of Monday's series opener against the Guardians, but manager Tony La Russa said Sunday that Moncada would slot in as the White Sox's No. 2 hitter in his 2022 debut, per Daryl Van Schouwen. Moncada was given the green light to rejoin the White Sox following a productive six-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte in which he slashed .318/.360/.636 with two home runs and a double.

White Sox's Jake Burger: Optioned to Triple-A

Burger was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Burger was moved to Triple-A as a result of Yoan Moncada (oblique) returning from the 10-day injured list Monday. The 26-year-old has produced a .239/.276/.352 slash line with two homers and seven RBI over 71 at-bats with the White Sox this season. It is likely he will return to the big-league club again at some point this summer.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Sits for series finale

Urias is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

After picking up starts at the hot corner in each of the past four games -- including both ends of Sunday's doubleheader split -- Urias will take a seat for the series finale. Tyler Nevin replaces Urias at third base.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Slugs fifth homer

Bregman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored Sunday against the Tigers.

Bregman took Joe Jimenez yard in the fifth inning to record his fifth homer of the season. He has yet to get going at the plate -- he has just seven hits in 34 at-bats across his last 10 games -- but he has more walks than strikeouts and is suffering from a .228 BABIP. Bregman should be able to improve upon his .235 batting average going forward and remain a strong source of runs due to his strong on-base percentage.

  • Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH

Orioles' Tyler Nevin: Starting Game 2

Nevin (groin) is starting in right field and batting sixth in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Royals, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Nevin has been sidelined since suffering the groin injury Tuesday against the Twins, but he's back in the lineup for Sunday's nightcap. He's gone 2-for-14 with three RBI and two runs through his first give games of 2022.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: On bench for nightcap Sunday

LeMahieu is out of the lineup for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Yankees.

LeMahieu will receive some routine maintenance after he played all nine innings at third base in the Yankees' 2-1 win in Game 1 while going 1-for-4 at the plate. Josh Donaldson, who rested in Game 1, will replace LeMahieu at the hot corner in the nightcap.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Sent back to minors

The Rays optioned Paredes to Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Paredes will lose his spot on the 26-man active roster after the Rays reinstated Ji-Man Choi (elbow) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. During his week-long stay with Tampa Bay, Paredes appeared in six games and went 5-for-19 with a double, two runs and two RBI.

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Steals base Saturday

Ramirez went 2-for-8 with a double, a walk and a stolen base during Saturday's doubleheader versus the Blue Jays.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Idle for front end of doubleheader

Donaldson is out of the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Rangers.

With Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa both resting for the front end of the twin bill, the Yankees will deploy DJ LeMahieu (third base) and Marwin Gonzalez (shortstop) on the left side of the infield. Expect both Donaldson and Kiner-Falefa to rejoin the lineup for the nightcap.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Mashes third homer

Toro went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-2 loss to Tampa Bay.

The 25-year-old had been hitless in his last 13 at-bats prior to the long ball and is slashing a low .151/.221/.302 through 25 games.
