Urias went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 13-1 win over the Angels.

The 27-year-old got the start at shortstop with Jorge Mateo (back/hip) still sidelined. The recent surge has lifted his slash line to .277/.353/.432 with seven home runs, 34 RBI, 28 runs scored and a stolen base through 238 plate appearances. He figures to see regular playing time around the infield over the final month-plus of the season.

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Homers, on base four times

Chapman went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two walks as Oakland fell 7-6 to the Yankees on Thursday.

Chapman launched his 20th home run to lead off the third inning, walked with the bases load in the fourth, singled in the sixth and waked in the eighth to reach base four times for only the second time all season. Astudillo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Thursday's loss to the Red Sox.

The 29-year-old has battled for playing time this season, hitting .257/.281/.421 with seven long balls across 61 games. Mitch Garver (back) and Ryan Jeffers (heel) are both nursing injuries, which could open up more catching opportunities for Astudillo.
