White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Finding groove at plate

Moncada went 3-for-5 with a run scored Tuesday in the White Sox's 5-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Moncada extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a base hit in his first at-bat of the night, then added two more singles to his ledger later in the contest. Though he's posted an impressive .935 OPS during the hitting streak and moved into the No. 2 spot in the lineup Tuesday, he likely won't typically slot that high in the order when Cesar Hernandez -- who sat out for rest -- is included in the lineup.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Activated, starting Wednesday

The Astros reinstated Bregman (hamstring/quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Wednesday's game against the Royals, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. He'll start at third base and bat sixth.

Houston optioned infielder Jacob Wilson to Triple-A Sugar Land to clear space on the active roster for Bregman, who will return to the Astros lineup for the first time since June 16. Bregman took far longer than Houston initially anticipated to make his way back from the IL, but his addition will only strengthen an Astros offense that has compiled a 116 wRC+ since the All-Star break, the second-best mark in the majors. Aledmys Diaz is expected to move into a utility role moving forward with Bregman taking back everyday duties at the hot corner.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Knocks in three in loss

Urias went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and three RBI in Tuesday's 14-8 loss to the Angels.

The infielder struggled for much of the early part of August, but he's now posted four multi-hit efforts in the last five games. Urias has added two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored in that span. The 27-year-old has a .272/.345/.427 slash line this year, and he should be in line for regular at-bats after Maikel Franco was designated for assignment and Richie Martin was optioned Monday.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Tallies 18th homer

Donaldson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two runs scored and a walk Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Donaldson led off the ninth inning with a home run, his 18th long ball of the season. He's now homered twice in his last three starts, though prior to this stretch he had only one extra-base hit and no home runs across 53 plate appearances in August. For the season, Donaldson is hitting .248/.350./462 wih 52 runs scored and 52 RBI across 389 plate appearances.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Activation coming Wednesday

Manager Dusty Baker said Bregman (hamstring) will be activated from the 10-day injured list for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Bregman appeared in three rehab games with Triple-A Sugar Land over the past few days, and he'll rejoin the big-league roster after going through a workout Tuesday in Houston. The 27-year-old has been sidelined since mid-June by the hamstring injury, but he'll reclaim his starting role at third base now that he's healthy. Aledmys Diaz should return to a utility role as a result.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Homers in win

LeMahieu went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Braves.

LeMahieu broke the 2-2 deadlock between the Yankees and the Braves on Tuesday night with a two-run shot off Charlie Morton in the fifth inning. Fantasy managers are hoping this ignites a charge into the bat of the Yankees' utilityman, as LeMahieu's power numbers have regressed sharply this season.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Likely back Thursday

Urshela (hamstring) said after Tuesday's rehab game with Double-A Somerset that he'll rejoin the Yankees on Wednesday and expects to be activated from the injured list Thursday, Matt Kardos of MLB.com reports.

Urshela reported to Somerset on Sunday and is apparently set to return from the injured list after playing in two rehab games. The Yankees have a scheduled off day Wednesday, and it appears the 29-year-old will be back on the big-league roster for Thursday's series opener at Oakland.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: On brink of activation

Manager Dusty Baker said Tuesday that Bregman (hamstring) could be activated from the 10-day injured list in the next day or two, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Bregman played consecutive nine-inning games with Triple-A Sugar Land before returning to Houston to work out with the big-league club Tuesday. Based on Baker's update, it sounds like the infielder could be activated as soon as Wednesday for the series finale against the Royals. Bregman has slowly been working his way back from a right hamstring injury that has sidelined him since mid-June, and he should assume the every day job at third base once reinstated.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Raps out three hits Monday

Toro went 3-for-4 with a run in a win over the Athletics on Monday night.

The 24-year-old extended his hitting streak to six games with his first multi-hit effort since Aug. 11. Toro has been a force at the plate throughout the month, with Monday's production bringing his August slash line to .304/.396/.392 over 91 plate appearances.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Back in action

Chapman (foot) will bat sixth and play third base Tuesday against the Mariners.

Chapman was scratched from the lineup for Monday's contest with a bruised left foot, but the issue evidently wasn't a particularly serious one. He hit .429 with five homers over a recent nine-game stretch before going hitless in his last two games.
