Miranda could be recalled from Triple-A St. Paul if Kyle Garlick has to go on the injured list with a calf injury, Dan Hayes reports.

The Twins are in need of right-handed bats with Miguel Sano on the IL and Garlick hurt. Miranda was off to a slow start at Triple-A (hitting .256 with a .737 OPS), but is hitting .300/.351/.520 with a homer in his last 57 plate appearances. The Twins will likely make a decision in the next day or two.

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with two walks, a run and a stolen base in a 7-3 victory over the Athletics on Sunday.

Ramirez reached base in each of his first three plate appearances, walking in the first and third innings and singling in the fourth. The theft was his first of the season as the 29-year-old has been less active on the bases despite a scorching start at the dish, evidenced by a .341/.421/.707 slash line through 22 games. Ramirez's career average of 25 steals per 162 games is a better indicator of his capabilities, though it's a real possibility that he's slowing down with age.

Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

Candelario had a two-hit game Saturday and followed that up with his first home run of the season Sunday, a solo shot in the top of the ninth inning. He's still scuffling overall with a .164 average and .485 OPS, though perhaps these last two games will get him going.

Rivera was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.

Rivera appeared in three games after being called up Friday, but he went 0-for-6 with two strikeouts. The 25-year-old should see more consistent time in the lineup with the minor-league club and will likely be an option to serve as depth for the Royals once again at some point.

Prieto (hamstring) was hurt in High-A Aberdeen's game Friday, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.

It's a disappointing injury for Prieto, whose timeline to return hasn't been established. He's swatted seven home runs with 17 RBI and two stolen bases while batting .328 with Aberdeen.

Burger is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

He'll take a seat after starting each of Chicago's last five games while going 6-for-19 with a solo home run and a double. Josh Harrison, who typically plays second base, will fill in for the resting Burger at third base.

The Angels placed Duffy on the COVID-19 injured list Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Duffy was initially in line to start at first base Sunday against White Sox southpaw Dallas Keuchel, but the lefty-hitting Jared Walsh was instead a late addition to the lineup after Duffy was scratched. The Angels haven't indicated whether Duffy's placement on the COVID-19 IL was the result of a positive test or due to contact-tracing concerns, but he'll head into isolation until the team gets more clarity on the matter. Jack Mayfield was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to provide an extra option off the bench while Duffy is on the IL.

Toro will serve as Seattle's designated hitter and No. 6 hitter in Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Mitch Haniger's return from the COVID-19 injured list Friday looked as though it would send Toro back into a utility role, but that didn't last long. In his first game back from the bout with the illness, Haniger suffered a Grade 2 high-ankle sprain that resulted in him being placed on the IL on Saturday. With Haniger out of the picture, Jesse Winker, Julio Rodriguez and Jarred Kelenic should form the Seattle outfield in most games, leaving Eugenio Suarez and Toro to split third base and DH duties.

Walls will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Twins.

He'll be filling at shortstop for the first time since April 18 after Wander Franco was a late scratch from the lineup due to right hamstring tightness. Even if Franco's injury results in only a one-game absence, Walls is expected to see his starting opportunities grow over the next week after Ji-Man Choi (elbow) was placed on the injured list Sunday. While Choi is out of commission, Yandy Diaz is expected to see more work at first base, which should open up more reps at the hot corner for Walls.

Candelario went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Dodgers.

Any good performance is welcome at this point for Candelario, who came into Saturday hitless over his previous four games. The third baseman is still batting just .159 this season, but after hitting .271 last year and .297 in 2020, it seems likely that he'll get his bat going eventually. Saturday's two-hit effort was just the second multi-hit game of the season for Candelario.
