Rays' Taylor Walls: Tallies four hits in loss

Walls went 4-for-5 with a solo homer, two RBI, two runs scored and two steals during Sunday's 12-9 loss to the White Sox.

Walls did a little bit of everything Sunday and ended an 0-for-15 slump at the plate with his second multi-hit effort of the season. His big hit of the day came in the fourth after he and Luke Raley hit back-to-back jacks against Mike Clevinger to put Rays ahead 2-1. Walls would notch steals in the sixth and eighth innings and drove in his second run of the game on a base hit in the ninth. The 26-year-old has struggled to hit for average throughout his young MLB career but could be playing himself into a near everyday role with his hot start to the season. He's now slashing .302/.397/.571 with four homers, 10 RBI, 18 runs, five steals and a 9:14 BB:K over 73 plate appearances. It's multi-positional eligibility certainly makes him an intriguing play in most fantasy formats.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Mashes grand slam in win

Jung went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, a double, a walk, five RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 15-2 win over the Yankees.

Jung collected his first career grand slam in the first inning after taking Nestor Cortes deep to right field to open up a 4-0 lead for the Rangers. He would reach base again after a bases loaded walk in the sixth and then later doubled in the eighth and came around to score both times. The 25-year-old is now slashing .270/.324/.500 with six homers, 21 RBI, 18 runs and a 7:35 BB:K over 108 plate appearances. He's certainly put himself in the early conversation for AL Rookie of the Year after a fast start to kick off the first month of the season.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: On base four times Saturday

Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox.

Ramirez provided the game-tying RBI single in the ninth inning. The third baseman is 7-for-13 with four walks over his last four contests. That small surge has lifted his slash line to .291/.380/.485 with three home runs, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored and five steals in seven attempts through 27 contests.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Sits for first time

Miranda is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Miranda is 5-for-14 with a double, three home runs, four RBI and five runs scored over the past four contests, and he'll take a seat Sunday after starting Minnesota's first 28 games of the campaign. Willi Castro will step in at the hot corner for the Twins in the series finale.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Receives Sunday off

Rendon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Rendon went 1-for-7 in the first two games of the series. Gio Urshela will be the starting third baseman for Sunday's finale against Milwaukee with Jake Lamb hitting eighth and playing first base .

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Out Sunday vs. Tigers

Urias is not in the starting lineup against the Red Sox on Sunday.

Urias has failed to pick up a hit over seven at-bats in the series against the Tigers in two games of work. Gunnar Henderson will man the hot corner and hit sixth with Ryan O'Hearn hitting ninth as the designated hitter.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Goes deep early in win

Devers went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 8-7 extra-inning win over the Guardians.

Devers launched his AL-leading 10th home run in the first inning to give Boston an early lead. The third baseman is on pace for 60 homers over a 162-game season. He appears to have a made a conscious decision to leave the park more often, which has come at the expense of batting average. Devers has career highs in launch angle (15.0) and flyball percentage (33.3) in his pursuit of the long ball but is hitting just .239 (.208 BABIP).

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Cold snap continues

Bregman went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Saturday's loss to Philadelphia.

Bregman struggled to put the ball in play Saturday, striking out three times, two of which came at the hands of Zack Wheeler. After hitting safely in 14 of 15 games from April 9 to April 24, the third baseman is 0-for-14 in his last four contests. Bregman should get the chance to break the slump Sunday in a matchup against projected starter Bailey Falter, who has given up five home runs and holds an 0-4 record through five starts this season.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Twins' Kyle Farmer: Set to begin rehab assignment

Farmer (face) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday and hopes to be activated from the injured list May 9, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

He'll play with St. Paul for a week before undergoing oral surgery to remove wires in his jaw on May 8 that sounds like the last steep in his recovery process. Farmer underwent surgery on his lower lip and bottom teeth after being struck by a pitch in the face April 12.

  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Busy on basepaths

Walls went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base Saturday against the White Sox.

Walls was in the lineup for the fifth time in five games, as his glove continues to earn him playing time. He has only two hits across his last 21 at-bats, however. Walls' primary contribution for fantasy purposes is his ability on the basepaths, and he has three stolen bases across his last nine games.
