  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Not in Friday's lineup

Rengifo is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Rengifo has a .486 OPS over his past 11 contests and will take a seat Friday after starting the previous two games. Christian Moore will receive another start at the keystone for the Angels.

  • Miguel Vargas 2B | CHW

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Moves to injured list

The White Sox placed Vargas on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left hand sprain.

Vargas suffered the injury on a collision at first base Thursday while attempting to field an errant throw, and he'll be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. The severity of the injury isn't clear, and the 25-year-old will have only a few weeks to get healed up before his rest-of-season status is in question.

  • Ernie Clement SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: On bench Friday

Clement (finger/shin) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Milwaukee.

Clement was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his left middle finger and received 10 stitches in his left shin after a collision at third base during Tuesday's game. Despite missing Friday's lineup, Clement is still considered day-to-day as his return will depend upon his pain tolerance. Addison Barger will slot in at third base Friday.

  • Vimael Machin 3B | BAL

Orioles' Vimael Machin: Accepts outright assignment

Machin cleared waivers and accepted an assignment to Triple-A Norfolk, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The Orioles designated Machin for assignment Wednesday, and the 31-year-old will remain in the organization. Machin has slashed .285/.344/.470 in 442 plate appearances with Norfolk this season.

  • Miguel Vargas 2B | CHW

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Diagnosed with wrist contusion

Vargas exited Thursday's game against the Yankees due to left wrist contusion.

Vargas attempted to field an errant throw at first base and collided with Aaron Judge, and the result was his wrist being bent backward. While the initial diagnosis is a contusion, Vargas will undergo further imaging and a stint on the injured list appears likely.

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Suffers apparent wrist injury

Vargas exited Thursday's game against the Yankees with an apparent injury to his left wrist, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Vargas was attempting to field an off-line throw at first base but collided with Aaron Judge, bending his arm and wrist backwards. Vargas remained down on the field with what looked to be a potentially serious injury. Before exiting, he went 1-for-3 with a grand slam.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Yankees' Ryan McMahon: Hits first home homer as Yankee

McMahon went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run against Washington in an 11-2 win Wednesday.

On a day when New York hit six long balls as a team, McMahon got in on the action with a three-run blast in the third inning. It was just the second homer McMahon has hit across 28 contests since being dealt to the Yankees on July 25, and this was his first one at home. The veteran third baseman hasn't done much with the bat since the trade, as he's posted a .649 OPS with a 32.0 percent strikeout rate during that 28-game stretch, though he's walked at a healthy 12.0 percent rate.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Extends hit streak to five

Jung went 3-for-6 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 20-3 win over the Angels.

Jung was about fifth on the list of offensive stars in the game, but the Rangers understand how important it is for the third baseman to get his groove back. A wrist injury that derailed him in 2024 has been followed by a season-long slump in 2025, when he was demoted to the minors for a stretch in July. Wednesday was his sixth straight start after getting a four-game breather last week to reset. The three-hit performance extended a hit streak to five games, during which Jung has gone 9-for-23 (.391) with a home run, a double and four RBI.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Homers again Wednesday

Suarez went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, a stolen base and a second run scored in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Padres.

After scoring the game's opening run on a Luke Raley double in the second inning, Suarez extended Seattle's lead to 4-0 with his 42nd homer this season, a 382-foot shot off Yu Darvish. Suarez has now homered in back-to-back games after going 0-for-8 in his previous three contests. Overall, he's slashing .237/.309/.549 with 104 RBI, 78 runs scored and four stolen bases across 537 plate appearances between the Mariners and Diamondbacks this year.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Idle against lefty again

Moncada is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

The Angels will hold the switch-hitting Moncada out of the lineup for a second straight game while the Halos face off against another lefty starter (Jacob Latz). Luis Rengifo will pick up the start at third base, but Moncada should continue to serve as the top option at the position when the Angels face right-handed pitchers.
