  • Orioles' Emmanuel Rivera: Drawing sixth straight start

Rivera will start at third base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Rivera has produced a .754 OPS thus far in September and will be rewarded with a sixth consecutive start at third base while he remains one of the Orioles' more productive bats of late. Though top prospect Coby Mayo hasn't presented much of a threat to his playing time, Rivera could be more at risk of losing at-bats once Ramon Urias (ankle) returns from the injured list. Urias is expected to report to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday to begin a rehab assignment.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Getting Wednesday off

Lewis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Lewis will get some rest after he had started at third base in each of the past six games while going 6-for-22 with two doubles, two walks, two RBI and two runs. Jose Miranda will spell Lewis at the hot corner Wednesday.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Slated for rehab assignment

Urias (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.

The Orioles haven't indicated how many rehab games he will require, but Urias is nearing a return from the 10-day injured list after being out since late August with a sprained right ankle. Urias and Jordan Westburg (hand) look to be tracking toward returns around the same time, and the latter should be the priority for playing time at third base.

  • Bryan Ramos 3B | BAL

White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Sitting in second straight game

Ramos is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Ramos is on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher (Jack Kochanowicz) and may have lost hold of the primary gig at third base. Yoan Moncada (adductor) hasn't been a factor at the hot corner since being activated from the 60-day injured list Monday, but Miguel Vargas will occupy the position for the third day in a row.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Slugs fourth homer

Caminero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Caminero homered for the first time since Aug. 31, a span of 15 games. He hit only .241 across 58 at-bats in that time to go along with four doubles and a .623 OPS. Positively, Caminero has hit primarily third in the lineup and remains an everyday player for the Rays.

  • Nick Maton DH | CHW

Orioles' Nick Maton: Sent outright to Triple-A

The Orioles outrighted Maton to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

For the third time this season, Maton has accepted an outright assignment from the Orioles after being scrubbed from the 40-man roster. He'll stick around with the organization as a utility infielder.

  • Josh H. Smith SS | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Picks up 10th steal

Smith went 1-for-4 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 13-8 win over the Blue Jays.

Smith's steal was his 10th of the season. He's swiped two of those bags over 14 games in September while batting a poor .208 (11-for-53) for the month. Smith continues to see steady time at shortstop since Corey Seager (hip/sports hernia) was shut down for the year. Smith has a .260/.343/.396 slash line with 12 home runs, 57 RBI and 62 runs scored over 139 contests.

  • Bryan Ramos 3B | BAL

White Sox's Bryan Ramos: On bench Tuesday

Ramos is not the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

Ramos has begun seeing regular playing time, having started in seven straight games since Sept. 9. In that span, he went 5-for-26 with two home runs and three walks. With the 22-year-old getting to rest Tuesday, Miguel Vargas has the start at third and is batting ninth.

  • Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Duran is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Duran started the previous three games but will sit Tuesday while in the midst of a 1-for-15 slump. Justin Foscue will bat ninth as the designated hitter versus Toronto righty Chris Bassitt.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Taking batting practice Tuesday

Westburg (hand) will take batting practice Tuesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Per Orioles general manager Mike Elias, Westburg could get into a rehab game before Triple-A Norfolk's season ends Sunday. The young infielder is tracking toward a return during the final week of the regular season.
