  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Not in lineup

Kim is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Toronto.

It would appear to be a routine day of rest for Kim. Jake Cronenworth will slide over to handle second base while Alfonso Rivas gets the start at first base.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Hit streak hits seven games

Kemp went 2-for-3 with a run in a win over the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Kemp's offensive renaissance continued out of the leadoff spot Wednesday, with the veteran's multi-hit effort serving as his fifth in the last 13 games and extending his hit streak to seven contests. Kemp's recipe for success over what is now a month-plus surge at the plate has been fairly straightforward -- he's made contact at an elite clip (6.1 percent strikeout rate) while seeing his BABIP rise from the abysmal .163 figure he carried from Opening Day through June 14 to a stellar .329 since that point.

  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Collects 18th steal

Kim went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Blue Jays.

On a night when offense was at a premium, Kim was at the center of San Diego's only rally in the fifth inning, getting hit by a pitch, swiping second on the back half of a double steal with Trent Grisham and then coming home on a Manny Machado single. Kim has come flying out of the All-Star break, batting .321 (9-for-28) in six games to boost his slash line on the season to .264/.352/.416 with 11 homers, 18 steals, 33 RBI and 49 runs in 91 contests.

  • Luis Rengifo 3B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Goes deep Wednesday

Rengifo went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and a pair of walks against the Yankees in Wednesday's 7-3 victory.

Rengifo boosted the Angels' lead to four runs with his 418-foot two-run shot off Carlos Rodon in the second inning. It was just his second hit since the All-Star break, with the other also leaving the park. Rengifo came off the bench in the first two games of the series versus New York, and he'll likely compete for starts in the infield moving forward.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Resumes batting practice

Altuve (oblique) took batting practice on the field prior to the Astros' game Tuesday against the Rockies, MLB.com reports.

Altuve began running the bases Sunday, so he's steadily ramping up his activity. Though there's been no official timeline given, it's expected that he'll begin a rehab assignment shortly with the target being a return in late July.

  • Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM

Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Will need rehab assignment

Bae (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment by late July, MLB.com reports.

Bae has been on the injured list since July 2 and has recently resumed taking ground balls and playing catch. He'll need a rehab assignment, which is expected to begin July 28 when the Pirates return from a road trip on the West Coast.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Reaches base four times again

Julien went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

Julien has gotten on base 10 times in his last 14 plate appearances, going 8-for-11 with two homers and three walks in that span as he continues to torment Seattle's pitching. The second baseman's blast was his ninth homer in 48 contests this season and his fifth long ball in July. With six multi-hit efforts in his last seven games, Julien is up to a .318/.394/.574 slash line overall.

  • Luis Garcia 1B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Picks up sixth steal

Garcia went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Cubs.

Garcia has three multi-hit efforts in July, but he's batting just .200 (9-for-45) through 12 contests this month. He's added two steals and five RBI, but it's been a noticeable drop in performance for the second baseman, who hit a steady .289 in June. For the season, he's at a .266/.301/.370 slash line with five home runs, 41 RBI, 41 runs scored and six steals over 86 games.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Pops grand slam Wednesday

Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a grand slam in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Nationals.

Hoerner's grand slam came as part of a five-run fifth inning when the Cubs broke the game open during the 8-3 win. This was the infielder's sixth home run of the season and first since June 21, though he's still been able to contribute in fantasy due to his solid on-base skills and ability to steal bases.

  • David Villar 1B | SF

Giants' David Villar: Recalled from Sacramento

San Francisco recalled Villar from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

Villar will provide infield depth for the Giants as Brandon Crawford recovers from a bout of left knee inflammation. The 26-year-old holds a brutal .159/.244/.345 batting line in 40 games (127 plate appearances) this season at the MLB level.
