Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Extends hitting streak
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Blue Jays.
Hoerner extended his hitting streak to five games, and he's batting a robust .400 during the stretch. For the season, the infielder is batting a solid .278, but his biggest contribution has been on the basepaths, where he's 29-for-32 in stolen base attempts.

Isan Diaz 2B | DET
Tigers' Isan Diaz: Recalled from Triple-A
The Tigers recalled Diaz from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
With Javier Baez (bereavement) away from the team, Diaz will come up from the minors to fill Baez's roster spot. The 27-year-old infielder is just 1-for-19 across six games in the majors this season, and he is unlikely to draw many starts for Detroit while Baez is out.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Raps three more hits
Altuve went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, three runs and an RBI against the Angels in an 11-3 victory Saturday.
Altuve continued to set the table from atop the order, notching his fourth straight multi-hit game. Over that span, the second baseman has gone a scorching 12-for-17 with three doubles, a homer, six RBI, seven runs and two steals. The multi-hit stretch is part of a longer 14-game hitting streak, the second-longest such active streak in the majors behind Maikel Garcia's 15-game run.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Picks up third steal
Westburg went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Saturday's 1-0 extra-inning win over the Mariners.
After slumping in late July, Westburg has hit safely in eight of his nine games in August to earn a near-everyday role. The infielder is 11-for-33 (.333) with a home run, four RBI and five runs scored this month. Westburg is up to a .278/.328/.435 slash line with two homers, three steals, 12 RBI, 16 runs scored, seven doubles and two triples through 33 contests. He's seen most of his playing time between second base and third base lately.

Amed Rosario 3B | NYY
Dodgers' Amed Rosario: Knocks homer Saturday
Rosario went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.
Rosario has already popped three homers in 13 games with the Dodgers, batting .262 since he was trade from the Guardians. That matches his homer total from his first 94 contests this year. The infielder is slashing a modest .265/.303/.384 with 51 RBI, 57 runs scored and 10 stolen bases through 455 plate appearances overall.

Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC
Braves' Nicky Lopez: Makes most of Saturday's start
Lopez went 4-for-6 with a double, a home run, three runs scored and five RBI in a 21-3 rout of the Mets during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.
Getting the start at shortstop and batting ninth, Lopez not only socked his first homer of the season in the ninth inning off Danny Mendick, he took the mound himself in the bottom of the frame and walked a batter over a scoreless inning of relief. Lopez's only other action so far for Atlanta since being acquired at the trade deadline was an appearance as a pinch runner Tuesday, so despite this impressive effort, at-bats will likely be few and far between down the stretch for the 28-year-old infielder.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Massive day in twin bill
Albies went 5-for-9 with a walk, two home runs, two stolen bases, four runs scored and eight RBI in Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Mets.
Atlanta scored 27 runs across both games of the twin bill and Albies was in the thick of the offensive eruption both times, homering and swiping a base in each game while driving in six runs in the matinee alone. The second baseman has hit safely in all 12 games so far in August, batting .364 (20-for-55) with four homers, four steals, 12 runs and 16 RBI to begin the month.

David Hensley 1B | DET
Astros' David Hensley: Returns to majors
Hensley was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Hensley accomplished very little in 29 big-league games earlier this season, homering just once while slashing .120/.215/.169. He hasn't set Triple-A on fire, either, posting a wRC+ of 81 while striking out 29.0 percent of the time. He'll likely fill a bench role but could be part of the picture at first base in the absence of Jose Abreu, who landed on the injured list with lower-back inflammation in a corresponding move.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Out of lineup
Rojas will not start Saturday's game against the Orioles.
Rojas has started against five of the seven righties the Mariners have faced since he joined the club, but he's been on the bench against all three lefties, including Saturday's starter Cole Irvin. He's gone just 2-for-17 at the plate for his new team, so he isn't doing much to earn a sudden uptick in playing time. Jose Caballero will start at second base Saturday.

Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH
Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Extends on-base streak Friday
Diaz went 1-for-4 with a two-run single in a loss to the Nationals on Friday, extending his on-base streak to nine games.
Diaz's timely first-inning knock afforded the Athletics their only two runs of the night. The rookie boasts a .394 on-base percentage during his aforementioned nine-game stretch of success that spans the entirety of August, with that number largely boosted by an 18.2 percent walk rate. Diaz has also impressively shaved his strikeout rate to 15.2 percent during the sample after carrying a 23.0 percent figure coming into the month.
