Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH
Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Extends on-base streak Friday
Diaz went 1-for-4 with a two-run single in a loss to the Nationals on Friday, extending his on-base streak to nine games.
Diaz's timely first-inning knock afforded the Athletics their only two runs of the night. The rookie boasts a .394 on-base percentage during his aforementioned nine-game stretch of success that spans the entirety of August, with that number largely boosted by an 18.2 percent walk rate. Diaz has also impressively shaved his strikeout rate to 15.2 percent during the sample after carrying a 23.0 percent figure coming into the month.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Mariners' Josh Rojas: First taste of Seattle success
Rojas went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a double and two runs in a win over the Orioles on Friday.
The trade-deadline acquisition had received sparse opportunities and had yet to record a hit with the Mariners since arriving from the Diamondbacks, but that changed in a notable way Friday. Rojas, who has yet to leave the yard this season in 231 plate appearances, should have a chance to claim everyday playing time at second base and attempt to rediscover his mysteriously absent power stroke now that Kolten Wong has been jettisoned.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Big day against Jays
Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Friday's 6-2 win over the Blue Jays.
He socked his ninth homer of the season in the first inning off Jose Berrios, helping the Cubs grab an early lead they wouldn't relinquish. Hoerner's had an up-and-down campaign, but he's heating up again in August -- over his last 10 games, he's batting .302 (13-for-43) with two solo homers, four steals and 11 runs scored.

Jake Alu LF | WAS
Nationals' Jake Alu: Mashes first career homer
Alu went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 8-2 win over the A's.
After bringing home what proved to be the winning run in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly, Alu socked his first career big-league homer in the eighth, a solo shot off Sam Long. Alu has started four straight games at second base for the Nats, but his production at the plate remains inconsistent -- since rejoining the big club at the beginning of August, the 26-year-old is batting .233 (7-for-30) with a 1:13 BB:K.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Launches 11th homer
Stott went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Friday's 13-2 rout of the Twins.
The infielder clubbed his 11th homer of the year in the sixth inning off Brent Headrick. Stott is enjoying a strong start to August, batting .297 (11-for-37) with four doubles, two home runs, three steals, nine runs and nine RBI in 10 games as part of a resurgent Phillies offense.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: One hit in return
Rodgers (hamstring) went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts in Friday's 6-1 loss to the Dodgers.
Rodgers' fourth-inning single forced an error from the Dodgers' defense, allowing the Rockies' lone run to score. After missing four months of the season with a shoulder injury, he sat out another three games this week with a minor hamstring issue. The second baseman is batting a mediocre .214 with two RBI and a 1:9 BB:K over seven contests this season. If his bat doesn't heat up, he may lose work to some combination of Harold Castro and Alan Trejo.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Returns to lineup Friday
Rodgers (hamstring) is in the designated hitter spot and batting cleanup in his return to the lineup Friday versus the Dodgers, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Rodgers missed the previous three contests with a tight right hamstring, but he's feeling well enough to at least bat. When he'll be ready to return to second base isn't clear. Rodgers enters play Friday having gone 5-for-24 with two RBI in six games this season following a four-month absence due to shoulder surgery.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
White Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Undergoes shoulder surgery
Gonzalez underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder in mid-July, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
This news was just revealed by the White Sox on Friday, and it helps to explain why Gonzalez was transferred to the 60-day IL just before the All-Star break. The 26-year-old right-hander is aiming to be ready for the start of spring training in 2024.

Sam Haggerty LF | TEX
Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Recalled from Triple-A
Haggerty was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.
With J.P. Crawford heading to the 7-day injured list, Haggerty will take his roster spot. The 29-year-old will make his first appearance in the majors since being optioned June 6. Prior to that, the utility player had been with the Mariners the whole season, but was hitting below the Mendoza Line. Triple-A has been a different story, where he has slashed .325/.411/.590 with eight home runs in 42 games.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Shut down for two weeks
India (foot) will receive a second opinion on his left foot and has been shut down from running for at least two weeks, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
India has reportedly been feeling pain while running, so the Reds will pause his rehab until late August, meaning his return to the lineup will have to wait until September. The 26-year-old second baseman was slashing .251/.336/.409 across 453 plate appearances prior to getting injured in late July.
