Davis Schneider 2B | TOR
Blue Jays' Davis Schneider: Sitting once again
Schneider is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.
Schneider is without a hit in his past 30 at-bats and finds himself on the bench Tuesday for the fourth time in Toronto's past six games. The 24-year-old had one of the hottest bats in the majors after debuting in early August with seven homers and a 1.415 OPS in his first 21 contests, but his regression over the last couple weeks has been steep. Cavan Biggio has taken on a larger role of late and is batting cleanup as Toronto's second baseman Tuesday.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Out of Tuesday's lineup
Westburg is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.
Westburg went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run Sunday in Cleveland to end and 0-for-11 slump, but he'll take a seat for Tuesday's series opener versus Washington. Ramon Urias will man the hot corner and bat ninth.

Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Recalled from Indianapolis
The Pirates recalled Gonzales from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.
Gonzales is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, but he could get a start or two in the final week of the 2023 campaign. The 24-year-old middle infielder has struggled to a .216/.268/.353 batting line across his first 112 major-league plate appearances this season.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Mariners' Josh Rojas: Two-hit day in shutout loss
Rojas went 2-for-3 with a double and a run in a loss to the Astros on Monday.
Rojas' bat was the only real sign of life for the Mariners in an absolutely moribund night for the offense. The No. 9 hitter's multi-hit effort was his first since Sept. 5 and snapped an 0-for-13 funk that had encompassed his previous five games.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Enters as pinch hitter
Marte (Illness) walked as a pinch hitter in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Yankees.
Marte walked for Jordan Lawlar in the eighth inning, loading the bases before Corbin Carroll drove in two with a single to give Arizona a brief lead. Marte stayed in the game to play second base. He'd been dealing with a stomach bug that made him unavailable Sunday and held him out of Monday's starting nine, but his usage suggests a return to the starting lineup Tuesday, when Arizona is in Chicago to start a three-game set with the White Sox.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Belts another long ball
Semien went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Monday in a 5-1 win against the Angels.
A day after hitting two homers versus Seattle, Semien went deep again Monday, swatting a solo shot to left field in the seventh inning. The blast put him at 28 homers and 98 RBI on the campaign, and he's within reach of his second career season with at least 100 runs batted in. Eight of Semien's homers have come in September, and he's added 17 RBI, 19 runs and a .287 average through 23 contests this month.

Michael Stefanic 2B | ATH
Angels' Michael Stefanic: Getting regular run in infield
Stefanic will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
He'll stick in the lineup for the sixth game in a row and appears poised to receive steady playing time over the final week of the regular season in what could amount to an audition for an everyday role heading into the 2023 campaign. Since being called up from Triple-A Salt Lake a week ago, Stefanic has gone 8-for-18 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Out Monday, plans to play Tuesday
Marte (illness) is out of the lineup for Monday's series finale against the Yankees, but he said he expects to return to the starting nine for Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Marte will hit the bench for the second game in a row while he recovers from a bout with the stomach flu, but he noted Monday that he's feeling better than he did a day earlier. He'll likely go through a workout early Tuesday before the Diamondbacks determine if he's fit to return to the lineup for the series opener in Chicago. With a .991 OPS thus far in September, Marte is doing his part to ensure the Diamondbacks stay in the thick of the National League wild-card race.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Remains out Monday
Marte (illness) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.
Marte was a late scratch from the lineup ahead of Sunday's 7-1 win due to an illness and will end up sitting out Monday's series finale. With Marte on the bench, Arizona will deploy Geraldo Perdomo and Jordan Lawlar as its starters in the middle infield.

Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Getting call-up for final week
The Pirates plan to recall Gonzales from Triple-A Indianapolis ahead of their three-game series in Philadelphia that begins Tuesday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
After getting his first call-up to the big leagues in late June, Gonzales received a look in an everyday role in the middle infield but slashed a lowly .216/.268/.353 in 112 plate appearances before being optioned back to Triple-A in early August. Though he'll be back with the Pirates for the final week of the season, Gonzales may only be on hand as a depth option behind the likes of Ji Hwan Bae, Jared Triolo and Liover Peguero.
