Albies went 3-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 9-6 loss to the Royals.

He took Kansas City closer Ian Kennedy deep in the ninth inning for his 24th homer of the year, tying the career high he established last year. Albies is slashing .364/.405/.662 through 20 games in September, and the heater has the 22-year-old on the brink of hitting .300 for the season.

Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-2 loss to the Pirates.

The Cubs have seen their playoff chances evaporate with a seven-game losing streak, but a silver lining has been the emergence of Hoerner. The rookie shortstop is slashing .295/.328/.492 through the first 15 games of his MLB career. Heading into 2020, a healthy Javier Baez will lock down one of the middle infield spots, but Hoerner has made a strong case for ample playing time.

Torres (hamstring) is starting at second base and hitting third Tuesday against the Rays, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

As expected, Torres has been cleared to rejoin the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against Tampa Bay after missing a pair of games over the weekend. The second baseman, who is hitting .271 with five home runs and an .890 OPS through 15 games this month, will face Yonny Chirinos in his first game back.

Lowe is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Yankees, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Lowe will give way to Joey Wendle at the keystone in Tuesday's series opener with a pair of left-handers in Jordan Montgomery and CC Sabathia slated to pitch for the Yankees. The infielder has appeared in two games since returning from the IL, going 2-for-6 with a home run.

Wong was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Tuesday.

Wong made his big-league debut for the Rays in early September but didn't receive many opportunities, going 3-for-14 at the plate over six games. The utility man could see more at-bats on the less competitive Angels over the final week of the season.

Drury went 1-for-6 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 11-10 win over the Orioles in 15 innings.

Drury was making a start at his third position in as many days, this time playing shortstop after previously seeing action at first and third base. With Bo Bichette (concussion) seemingly unlikely to return before the regular season ends Sunday, Drury could enjoy a fairly stable role over the Blue Jays' final five games.

Biggio went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, three walks and an additional run Monday in the Blue Jays' 11-10 win over the Orioles in 15 innings.

The rookie extended his hitting streak to a career-best seven games, lifting his season average from .221 to .237 during that stretch. Biggio's 28.4 percent strikeout rate will make it difficult for him to uphold a useful batting average, but his blend of power and speed and willingness to work pitch counts and take walks make him an ideal fit near the top of the Toronto lineup.

Semien doubled twice, scored a run and drove in another across five at-bats Sunday in the Athletics' 8-3 loss to the Rangers.

Semien is now up to 42 doubles on the season, placing in a three-way tie for fifth place in the majors. Additionally, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports the one time Semien crossed the plate Sunday pushed him past Ricky Henderson and into a second-place tie with Jose Canseco for second-most runs in a season (120) in franchise history. The 29-year-old's huge power spike and improved defense in 2019 should at the very least earn him some down-ballot American League MVP votes once the season concludes.

Lowe (quadriceps) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run in a loss to the Red Sox on Sunday, his first major-league appearance since July 2.

Lowe's furious comeback from nagging lower-leg issues culminated in Sunday's return, with the infielder scoring the Rays' first run of the contest. Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that manager Kevin Cash plans to manage Lowe carefully over the final week of the regular season, given the 25-year-old's extended layoff and still recovering lower body. "In fairness to him, he's not going to be a burner on the bases, " said Cash. "We've asked him to do everything he can to manage kind of a controlled run. We'll pinch-run for him in a big spot."

Dubon led off and went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Braves.

Dubon played the role of leadoff hitter well, singling off of Dallas Keuchel to begin the sixth frame, nabbing his third steal of the season, then coming around to score on an Evan Longoria double to get the Giants on the board. The rookie middle infielder has now led off against a southpaw in consecutive contests, a role he could keep over the final week of the regular season and potentially into the 2020 campaign.
