Ibanez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 7-4 win over Baltimore.

The infielder opened the scoring with a two-run blast off Baltimore ace John Means in the fourth inning. Ibanez also scored in the eighth inning after reaching on a single. The 28-year-old has a decent .265/.312/.417 slash line with seven homers, 21 RBI, 25 runs scored and 12 doubles through 248 plate appearances. His multi-hit effort Sunday was his fourth in eight games since returning from a hamstring injury, though he has gone hitless in the other four contests in that span.

Merrifield went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in Sunday's 2-1 win over Detroit.

The second baseman has recorded multiple hits in six of his last 13 games, although he's also posted 0-fers in four of those contests. Merrifield lifted his slash line to .280/.320/.398 with 10 home runs, 40 stolen bases, 72 RBI, 93 runs scored and 39 doubles through 688 plate appearances. The leadoff hitter has put together a solid year even though his .718 OPS is his second-lowest mark in six seasons in the big leagues.

Rojas will sit Sunday against the Dodgers.

Rojas sits after starting 11 of the last 12 games. He's gone hitless in each of his last three contests. Geraldo Perdomo will start at shortstop, the position Rojas occupied most frequently over that stretch.

The Athletics placed Andrus on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a fractured left fibula.

This marks the end of Andrus' season. The veteran hit .243/.294/.320 with three home runs and 37 RBI in 541 plate appearances. Andrus remains under contract with Oakland and figures to be fully recovered by spring training in 2022.

Hoerner (general soreness) is out of the lineup Sunday versus the Cardinals.

Hoerner was a late scratch for Saturday's game due to general soreness and will remain out of the lineup for Sunday's contest. Serio Alcantara will receive another start at shortstop in his place for the series finale.

Gimenez is not starting Sunday's series finale against the White Sox.

The infielder hit a solo home run Saturday. It was his third home run in the last seven games, a span during which he's hit .333 with five RBI. Owen Miller starts at second base and bats seventh.

Short has hit .224 with three home runs since being optioned to Toledo on Sept. 3. He now fills the big-league roster spot of Victor Reyes (groin) and figures to serve as infield depth for the remainder of the regular season.

Rengifo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run, a walk and a strikeout in a 14-1 triumph over the Mariners on Saturday.

Rengifo homered in the second inning, singled and scored in the third and walked in the fourth for his fourth multi-hit performance this month. The long ball was Rengifo's fourth of September though he's been a bit feast or famine with no other extra-base hits this month and only three walks despite a decent .262 average.

Polanco went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in Saturday's 6-1 loss to Toronto.

The infielder singled, stole third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Mitch Garver in the first inning, but that was the extent of Minnesota's run production. Polanco is in a bit of a skid to end the season, going just 3-for-26 across his last seven games. He's still put together a strong .271/.325/.505 slash line with career highs in home runs (31) and RBI (91) while adding 93 runs scored and 10 stolen bases through 146 contests.

Semien went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-1 win over Minnesota.

The 31-year-old's 43rd homer of the year tied him with Davey Johnson for the most in a single season by a second baseman. Semien's power surge has seen him swat 11 long balls in 24 September games. He's added a .271/.341/.548 slash line with 99 RBI, 111 runs scored and 15 stolen bases across 692 plate appearances in arguably the best year of his career.
