Mets' Jeff McNeil: Not in Sunday's lineup

McNeil is out of the lineup Sunday against Atlanta.

McNeil finds himself on the bench for the second time in the final three games of the season. If he doesn't make an appearance off the bench Sunday, the 29-year-old will finish 2021 with a 249/.317/.358 slash line, seven homers, 35 RBI and 48 runs in 426 plate appearances.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Moves to injured list

Garcia was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a strained left oblique.

Garcia will end up missing the final three games of the season due to the oblique injury. The 21-year-old appeared in 70 games this season and posted a .242/.275/.411 slash line with six homers, 18 doubles, 22 RBI and 29 runs in 247 plate appearances.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Not starting in finale

Garcia (ribs) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Garcia didn't play in either of the first two games of the weekend while contending with soreness in the left side of his ribcage, and Washington will presumably look to stay away from him in its season finale. Assuming Garcia goes unused Sunday, he'll wrap up the 2021 campaign with a .242 batting average to go with six home runs, 29 runs and 22 RBI across 247 plate appearances in 70 games.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Starting Sunday

India is starting at second base and batting leadoff Sunday at Pittsburgh, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

India was out of the lineup Saturday and manager David Bell said the second baseman may sit out again for the season finale, but he's instead back in the starting nine. The 24-year-old has a .267/.355/.476 slash line since the start of September and will attempt to put the finishing touches on his campaign for NL Rookie of the Year.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Sitting season finale

Marte is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Marte started the past eight games but will take a seat for the final game of the season. If the 27-year-old doesn't make an appearance off the bench, he'll finish 2021 with a .319/.378/.534 slash line, 14 homers, 29 doubles, 50 RBI and 52 runs in 89 games. Josh VanMeter will start at the keystone in his place.

  • Mets' Brandon Drury: Removed from roster

Drury was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse and designated for assignment Saturday.

Drury was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Sept. 31, and now he'll be removed from the 40-man roster. The move allowed the team to activate Robert Gsellman (lat) from the 60-day injured list. Drury ends the campaign with a .274/.307/.476 line across 88 plate appearances in the major leagues, though he spent the majority of the season in Triple-A.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: May not play Sunday

India may not start in Sunday's season finale against the Pirates, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

India is also out of Saturday's lineup, though no injury has been announced. It's been an impressive rookie season for India, as he currently has a .269/.375/.458 line with 21 home runs, 69 RBI, 96 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. Max Schrock shifted to second base and Delino DeShields entered the lineup in India's place Saturday.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Still not starting

Lux (neck) isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Milwaukee, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Lux suffered a neck stinger in Wednesday's win over the Padres and hasn't appeared in either of the last two games. Whether he's available off the bench Saturday remains to be seen.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Takes seat Saturday

Rojas isn't starting Saturday's game against Colorado.

Rojas will be on the bench for the third time in the last four games after he went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts Friday. Geraldo Perdomo will start at shortstop and bat eighth.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Retreats to bench

India isn't starting Saturday's game against the Pirates.

India will get a rare day off after he went 1-for-11 with a walk and three strikeouts across the last three games. Max Schrock will shift to second base while Delino DeShields enters the lineup in center field.
