  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Platooning with Sosa

Stott is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

The left-handed-hitting Stott started Saturday's game against lefty spot starter Jacob Latz, but he's now been on the bench two days in a row as the Phillies face a third straight lefty. Edmundo Sosa is handling second base again Monday and looks to be the short-side platoon partner with Stott.

  • Joseph Ortiz SS | MIL

Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Exits starting nine

Ortiz is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

He'll receive a day of rest after starting each of the first three games of the season. With Ortiz getting a breather, the Brewers will shift David Hamilton over to shortstop and give Luis Rengifo a start at third base.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Swipes first bag of year

Edwards went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Rockies.

It was the first steal of 2026 for the switch-hitting second baseman. Edwards is hitting lower in the order against left-handed pitching to begin the year, which could cost him occasional opportunities to take an extra base, but he's generated plenty on his own by going 4-for-11 through three games with three runs scored and a 0:1 BB:K.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Homers in win

Lowe went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Sunday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Mets.

Lowe reached base four times, highlighted by a solo shot that put the Pirates up 2-1 in the third inning. The 31-year-old has now homered three times in as many games to open the campaign, reaching base in seven of his 14 plate appearances. He should see near-everyday run in the heart of the order and has topped the 20-homer mark in each of the four seasons in which he's played over 100 games.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Participates in BP on Saturday

Edman (ankle) took on-field batting practice Saturday and is progressing well, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

Edman is currently on the 10-day IL as he works his way back from the right ankle surgery he underwent in mid-November. Manager Dave Roberts had previously said the infielder/outfielder is likely to return in late May, though he indicated Saturday that there is a possibility Edman will be back sooner. When he does get back in action, Edman is slated to spend most of his time at second base, where he could start frequently.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Giants' Luis Arraez: Multi-hit effort in defeat

Arraez went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Yankees.

Arraez hit third Saturday after being deployed in the leadoff spot during San Francisco's first two games. The 28-year-old infielder singled in the first inning, advanced to second and then stole third. He also singled in the eighth for his first multi-hit effort of the season. Through three games, Arraez is 3-for-11 with a walk, a strikeout and a stolen base.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Rockies' Edouard Julien: Exiting lineup Sunday

Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Julien served as the Rockies' designated hitter in the first two games of the season, going 1-for-5 with a double. Though he should have a fairly clear path to at-bats while Mickey Moniak (finger) is on the shelf, Julien will be the odd man out of the lineup Sunday. Hunter Goodman will get a day off from catching but stick in the starting nine at DH.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Getting day off versus lefty

Stott is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

After going 2-for-6 with a walk and a stolen base while starting in the Phillies' first two contests of the season, the left-handed-hitting Stott will hit the bench while the Rangers send southpaw MacKenzie Gore to the bump. Edmundo Sosa will fill in for Stott at the keystone.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Sitting against southpaw

Gorman is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Rays.

The left-handed-hitting Gorman was in the five spot in the lineup versus righties in each of the first two games of the season, but he'll sit out Sunday as the Cardinals go up against southpaw Steven Matz. Ramon Urias is at third base and batting sixth for St. Louis. Gorman has gone 2-for-8 with three RBI in the first two tilts of the season.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Taking seat Sunday

Dubon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Dubon started at shortstop in the first two games of the season and has gone 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Jorge Mateo will take over at shortstop for the series finale, batting ninth.
