Giants' Isan Diaz: Sent back to minors
The Giants optioned Diaz to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.
The demotion of Diaz opens up a spot on the 26-man active roster for Wilmer Flores (foot), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday in a corresponding move. During his brief stay with San Francisco, Diaz appeared in two games and went 0-for-8 with four strikeouts.

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Sitting Tuesday
Gorman isn't in the Cardinals' lineup Tuesday against Houston.

Jose Fermin 2B | STL
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Activated off minor-league IL
Fermin (quad) was activated from the injured list Monday at Triple-A Memphis.
Fermin missed the first couple months of the 2023 season due to a severe quad strain, but he's all set now to become a regular for Memphis following a 10-game rehab stint between the Florida Complex League and Low-A Palm Beach. St. Louis acquired the 24-year-old infielder from Cleveland over the winter in exchange for cash considerations. He slashed .215/.336/.322 with six homers and nine steals in 90 games last year at Triple-A Columbus.

Owen Miller 2B | CHC
Brewers' Owen Miller: Supplies clutch hit in extras
Miller went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Guardians.
Miller showed out in a big way against his former team, notching an RBI-double in the third and then another double to score Joey Wiemer in the 10th that wound up being the difference in the game. It was an encouraging effort from the 26-year-old, after he came into the day slashing just .188/.233/.203 in 73 plate appearances during June. His playing time is starting to slip as a result, though he's still seemingly being slotted towards the top of the order when in the lineup after batting second Sunday.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Goes deep again

Marte's two-run blast in the eighth inning proved to be the deciding hit of Sunday's victory. Over his last 12 games, he's drilled five home runs while going 18-for-44 (.409). Marte's bounce-back campaign is still going strong; he's slashing .294/.373/.518 with 31 extra-base hits and 58 runs scored through 322 plate appearances.

The second baseman has been steady in 2023 with a .266/.319/.502 slash line, 18 home runs, 55 RBI, 40 runs scored, 14 doubles and a triple through 77 games.
