  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Goes yard Thursday

Marte went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Dodgers.

Marte hit his first homer of the season, stretching Arizona's lead to 5-0 in the fifth inning. The second baseman missed nearly a month due to a hamstring issue, so he's likely still working on his timing at the plate. Through 14 contests this year, he's batting .267 with a .789 OPS, two RBI, eight runs scored and no stolen bases over 54 plate appearances. Marte should handle a starting role most of the time, but Tim Tawa has gotten some extra looks at the keystone while Marte gets regular rest to avoid aggravating his hamstring, which has been a recurring concern in his career.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Goes yard in three-hit attack

Stott went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional run scored in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Rays.

Stott snapped a 13-game homerless drought, ripping multiple extra-base hits for just the second time this season. The middle infielder has settled in as Philadelphia's leadoff batter, having now hit first in 20 games this year, but his splits should continue to render him an inconsistent fantasy option. The lefty-hitting Stott is batting just .200 with a .584 OPS through 25 at-bats against left-handed pitching, but he's hitting .295 with an .816 OPS across 105 at-bats versus righties.

  • Adael Amador SS | COL

Rockies' Adael Amador: Sitting out nightcap

Amador isn't in the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Detroit.

Amador went 0-for-3 during a blowout loss in Game 1, dropping his batting average down to just .152 on the year. He'll grab a seat on the bench for the final half of Thursday's activities, opening up second base for Owen Miller.

  • Michael Helman 2B | TEX

Cardinals' Michael Helman: Back from Triple-A IL

Triple-A Memphis activated Helman (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list Thursday.

Helman missed nearly three weeks of action with an undisclosed injury. He's slashed only .204/.283/.278 with Memphis this season, and the Cardinals seem likely to turn to Thomas Saggese or Jose Fermin before Helman if they need a utility player.

  • Tyler Freeman 3B | COL

Rockies' Tyler Freeman: Slated to begin rehab assignment

Freeman (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque this weekend, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Out since mid-April with a left oblique strain, Freeman has been cleared for game action and shouldn't require too many rehab at-bats before rejoining the Rockies' active roster. The versatile 25-year-old has various paths to playing time if he can perform well, although the career .221/.304/.324 hitter is no safe bet in that regard.

  • Reds' Santiago Espinal: Primed for everyday role

Espinal will start at third base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Espinal will pick up his eighth straight start Wednesday and his third in a row at third base, which could be his primary home for the foreseeable future after Noelvi Marte was placed on the 10-day injured list with a Grade 2 oblique strain. The 30-year-old Espinal has recorded at least one hit in each of his previous seven starts to lift his average up to .333 over 87 at-bats. Espinal could continue to occupy a spot in the heart of the lineup while he's swinging a hot bat and while the Reds are without multiple key hitters due to injuries.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Scores lone run Wednesday

Hoerner went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Giants.

Hoerner was one of Chicago's lone offensive bright spots Wednesday, as he recorded half of the team's hits and the only run. The infielder has been mostly a singles hitter this year, with only eight extra-base hits and no home runs among his 38 hits overall, but he's still been fairly productive with a .281 batting average. Hoerner has also chipped in seven stolen bases in nine attempts, which is his main source of fantasy value.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Rockies' Kyle Farmer: On bench Wednesday

Farmer is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Adael Amador will get the nod at second base Wednesday, but Farmer still may rank as the Rockies' preferred option at the keystone. Farmer had been included in the lineup in three of the team's previous four games, while Amador started just once during that stretch.

  • Nolan Gorman 2B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Enters lineup as replacement

Gorman entered Wednesday's lineup versus the Pirates after Nolan Arenado was scratched, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Gorman had been set to sit out his third game over the last four contests, but Arenado's undisclosed injury gives him a reprieve. The 24-year-old Gorman is just 2-for-27 at the dish over his last 10 games.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Receiving rest Wednesday

Marte is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Tim Tawa will draw the start at second base Wednesday while Marte gets some rest for the day game after a night game. Since making his return from the injured list Friday after missing nearly a month due to a strained left hamstring, Marte has started in four of the Diamondbacks' ensuing six games and has gone 2-for-15 with two walks and a run.
