Franklin Barreto LF | BAL
Athletics' Franklin Barreto: Called up from Triple-A
The Athletics recalled Barreto from Triple-A Nashville ahead of Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Barreto joins the Athletics for his fifth stint of the season with the big club in need of infield depth after Chad Pinder (elbow) was moved to the disabled list. It's expected that Barreto will be ticketed for a reserve role after managing a lowly .246 on-base percentage through his first 134 plate appearances in the majors.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Officially placed on DL
The Astros placed Altuve (knee) on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, Christian Boutwell of MLB.com reports.
The DL move had been expected since Saturday after Altuve's right knee failed to show dramatic improvement over the last couple of days. With the Astros now making the transaction official, Tyler White was formally recalled from Triple-A Fresno to take Altuve's spot on the active roster.

Ronny Rodriguez 2B | DET
Tigers' Ronny Rodriguez: Returns to lineup Sunday
Rodriguez, who is starting at third base and batting sixth Sunday, has been dealing with a sore groin the past few days, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Rodriguez hasn't started since Wednesday, but as a player who's been in and out of the lineup this year, the issue didn't really come to light. In any case, it seems like it was a minor issue, as the 26-year-old will return to action Sunday. On the season, Rodriguez is slashing a subpar .164/.208/.164 in 23 games.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Ticketed for DL
Altuve (knee) is headed to the 10-day disabled list, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
He left Wednesday's game with knee discomfort, and after holding him out Friday and Saturday, the Astros opted to put him on the DL. Earlier in the week, it seemed like the injury was minor and it would only cost him a couple games, but apparently that wasn't quite the case, though the Astros could just be exercising some caution with their star second baseman. Marwin Gonzalez and Tony Kemp will serve as the top two options at the keystone for Houston in the meantime. Altuve is eligible to return on Aug. 5. Amazingly, this is the first DL stint of his career.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Blue Jays' Brandon Drury: Returns from injury following trade
Drury (hand) will bat ninth and man the hot corner Saturday against the White Sox.
Drury suffered a left hand bruise Tuesday after being struck by a pitch, but he appears to be ready to make his debut with Toronto. He pieced together an uninspiring .173/.259/.269 slash line through 19 games with the Yankees, so he'll look to turn it around with the Blue Jays.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Takes seat for nightcap
Torres is not in the lineup for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Royals.
Torres collected two hits, including a double and an RBI, during the first game of the day, but he'll get a breather after playing in just his third game since coming off the disabled list. Tyler Wade draws the start at second base and will bat eighth.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Remains out Saturday
Altuve (knee) is not in Saturday's starting nine against the Rangers.
Altuve will get another day to recover after exiting Wednesday's contest with right knee discomfort. An update on his status hasn't been provided, so he'll continue to be listed as day-to-day moving forward. Marwin Gonzalez will man second base and Alex Bregman is slated to play shortstop with Altuve out of the lineup.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Held out Friday
Altuve is not in the lineup against Texas on Friday due to a sore knee, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The Astros are keeping Altuve on the bench as a precaution after the second baseman exited Wednesday's game with right knee discomfort. He should be considered day-to-day ahead of Saturday's contest and will benefit from another 24 hours of recovery time.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Hopes to return this weekend
Altuve (knee) hopes to play this weekend against the Rangers after leaving Wednesday's game, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Altuve described the injury as "not a big deal" while manager A.J. Hinch said the second baseman could have played through the injury. Both the player and manager acknowledged it was a prudent decision to remove him from the game, particularly with a day off Thursday. Altuve could return as soon as Friday.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Twins' Jorge Polanco: Takes seat Thursday
Polanco is not in the lineup against Boston on Thursday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Polanco will receive a day off after starting 19 of the past 20 games, during which he's hit .270 with a .714 OPS. In his absence, Ehire Adrianza will draw the assignment at shortstop and bat eighth.
