Forsythe started at third base in place of the injured Asdrubel Cabrera (back) and went 0-for-2 with two walks in a 9-4 loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

This was the second straight game Cabrera missed, and it presumably would have been his third had Monday's game not been postponed. Forsythe, who moves around the infield regularly as a fill-in, should continue to get time at third base while Cabrera is unavailable. He has one hit over his last 17 at-bats.

Altuve went 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-8 win over the Rockies.

This was Altuve's first four-hit night since returning from the injured list. He's hit safely in nine of the 12 games since being activated, batting .340 (18-for-53) with eight runs scored while primarily batting second in the order.

Andrus went 1-for-3 with a run scored and three stolen bases in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to the Angels.

Andrus had a single to right field during the third inning and subsequently stole second base, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and stole home for the third time this season. The 30-year-old is enjoying a resurgent season with a .309/.347/.456 slash line and is 19-for-23 in stolen-base attempts.

Lowe was diagnosed with a right lower leg contusion after X-rays came back negative Tuesday, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Lowe fouled a ball off his leg and was unable to remain in the game after finishing the at-bat with a single. The 24-year-old is officially day-to-day, but he was sporting crutches in the clubhouse and is unlikely to be in the lineup Wednesday, per Josh Tolentino of The Athletic. He at least delivered a huge performance before exiting Tuesday, going 3-for-3 with a home run, stolen base and two RBI.

Lowe was removed from Tuesday's game with an apparent leg injury after fouling a ball off himself, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Lowe finished the at-bat with a single but left the game after showing a noticeable limp on his way to first base. The 24-year-old should be considered day-to-day until more is known on the injury.

Manager Bob Melvin said Barreto will receive the majority of the starts at second base over Jurickson Profar going forward, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Barreto was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday and is starting at the keystone for the second straight game Tuesday. Profar, the previous starter, is set to move into a utility role for the A's. Barreto hit well at Triple-A with a .296/.379/.549 slash line in 73 games, and he'll now have the chance to showcase himself regularly in the majors.

Biggio went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and four RBI in Monday's 11-4 win over the Royals.

Biggio was one of five Blue Jays to finish with three or more hits in the Canada Day blowout. The rookie has been an on-base machine for the Jays since arriving to the big leagues in late May, but he's started to become an asset in the batting-average category lately, too. He's gone 12-for-36 (.333 average) over his last nine contests, though an unsustainable .458 BABIP over that stretch has certainly helped his cause.

Lopez went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored Sunday in the Royals' 7-6 win over the Blue Jays.

Since moving back into the No. 2 hole with Adalberto Mondesi (groin) on the shelf, Lopez is hitting .282 with three RBI and 10 runs in 10 games. The climb up in the lineup hasn't had much of an impact on Lopez's involvement in the running game, however. He was caught stealing in Sunday's contest, marking his only stolen-base attempt during that 10-game stretch. He'll be back in action for Monday's series finale as the Royals' starting second baseman and No. 2 hitter, per Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City.

Rodriguez was optioned to Triple-A Toledo following Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Rodriguez struggled to a .218 average over 52 games in the big leagues, resulting in a demotion for the 27-year-old. Jordy Mercer (quadriceps) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Monday in a corresponding move.

Rengifo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Andrelton Simmons and Tommy La Stella will man the middle-infield spots in the series finale, resulting in Rengifo heading to the bench after a string of 11 consecutive starts. Though Rengifo has found success at the plate recently with a .341 average and five extra-base hits over that 11-game span, his opportunities seem likely to decline now that Simmons is healthy again after an extended stay on the injured list.
