  • Jack Mayfield 2B | LAA

Angels' Jack Mayfield: Swats grand slam

Mayfield went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Monday's 8-7 win over the Yankees.

Mayfield flipped a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead with one swing of the bat after taking Corey Kluber yard in the fourth inning for a grand slam. Mayfield has nine homers in 43 games since being recalled by the Angels on July 6 but is slashing just .227/.281/.496 with 14 extra-base hits, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored, a steal and 7:31 BB:K. The 30-year-old likely had the biggest hit of his career Monday but has struggled to find success at the plate overall with limited action in the league since 2019.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Blasts 31st homer

Lowe went 2-for-3 with two walks, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Monday's 6-1 win over the Red Sox.

He set the tone for the game by launching a solo shot off Nick Pivetta in the first inning. Lowe continues to surge toward the finish line, slashing .321/.398/.716 over his last 21 games with 22 runs, 23 RBI and eight of his career-high 31 homers on the year.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Hitless in return to action

Andrus (arm) went 0-for-4 in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

The veteran shortstop ultimately missed just one game after suffering what manager Bob Melvin described as a stinger on his left arm on a check-swing Friday. Andrus saw a brief three-game hitting streak snapped with Sunday's empty box score, lowering his August slash line to a miserable .197/.250/.282.

  • Kean Wong 2B | SEA

Angels' Kean Wong: Back in big leagues

Wong was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

Wong was demoted to Triple-A on Friday but will quickly rejoin the major-league club. The 26-year-old has a .458 OPS in 20 games this season for the Angels and should fill an infield utility role.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Lands on injured list

Ibanez (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday.

Ibanez left Saturday's game with what was originally called left hamstring tightness. The diagnosis has since been upgraded to a strain, so he'll miss at least nine more days, with the move being backdated to Sunday. Nick Solak started at second base in his absence and will likely continue to play there until Ibanez returns.

  • Jonathan Arauz 3B | LAD

Red Sox's Jonathan Arauz: Not starting Monday

Arauz (undisclosed) isn't starting Monday's game against the Rays, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Arauz was removed from Sunday's game against Cleveland with an apparent injury, but he'll be available off the bench if needed Monday, Browne reports. Yairo Munoz will take his place at the keystone and bat ninth.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Remains on bench

Ibanez (hamstring) isn't starting Monday's game against the Rockies.

Ibanez exited Saturday's game against the Astros with left hamstring tightness and underwent testing Sunday. While the results of his tests aren't yet clear, he'll be out of the lineup for a second consecutive contest. Nick Solak will start at the keystone and bat sixth.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC

Royals' Nicky Lopez: Racking up singles

Lopez went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Seattle.

The shortstop finished the four-game series in Seattle at 10-for-17 with two RBI and four runs scored. All 10 of Lopez's hits in the series were singles, as he continues to make light but efficient contact from the No. 2 hole in the order. He raised his slash line to .292/.361/.362 with Sunday's third consecutive three-hit effort.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Launches decisive homer

Kemp went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run in a 3-1 victory over the Yankees on Sunday.

Kemp began Sunday's game on the bench and entered for Chad Pinder in the seventh, singling in his first at-bat and connecting on a Chad Green offering in the eighth to put Oakland ahead for good. The utility man enjoyed a successful weekend series against New York, recording three multi-hit games to go a combined 6-for-8 with a double and Sunday's homer.

  • Jonathan Arauz 3B | LAD

Red Sox's Jonathan Arauz: Leaves with apparent injury

Arauz exited Sunday's game against Cleveland with an apparent injury during the fourth inning, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Arauz suffered the injury while striking out with the bases loaded to the end the fourth inning, and he was replaced in the field for the bottom half of the frame. The Red Sox are already depleted at second bae with Enrique Hernandez (COVID-19) and Christian Arroyo (COVID-19) sidelined, leaving Yairo Munoz to take over at the keystone.
