Angels' Brandon Drury: Sitting Thursday
Drury isn't in the Angels' lineup for Thursday's game versus Oakland, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa CF | BOS
Blue Jays' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Rehab assignment imminent
Kiner-Falefa (knee) is on track to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Kiner-Falefa will be cleared for rehab games as long as he gets through workouts the next couple days with no issues. The utility infielder has been out since early July with a left knee sprain. He shouldn't need too many rehab at-bats before being activated, with a return next week being possible. Kiner-Falefa could take over at shortstop for the Blue Jays while Bo Bichette (calf) is out.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Reaches twice in loss
Polanco went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in a loss to the Angels on Wednesday.
Polanco was productive on yet another night of anemic play by the Mariners offense as a whole, snapping a brief 0-for-8 skid that had encompassed the previous two games. Polanco has now hit safely in five of the last seven contests overall, and the .231 average he's mustered in that span actually represents significant improvement over his body of work for the majority of the season.

Justin Foscue 1B | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Not in lineup again Thursday
Foscue is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the White Sox.
Foscue started at designated hitter in four straight games upon his promotion, but after going just 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts in those contests, he'll now sit out for the second day in a row. Robbie Grossman will serve as the Rangers' DH on Thursday.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Will miss 'significant' time
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that Mateo (elbow) will miss "a significant amount of time," Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.
Mateo landed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a partially dislocated elbow, the result of a collision with teammate Gunnar Henderson earlier this week. The Orioles won't know more about a potential timetable for the infielder's return until the swelling goes down, but surgery is a possibility. Even if Mateo doesn't wind up going under the knife, it sounds like he'll be sidelined for at least several weeks. Jordan Westburg and Connor Norby will handle the reps at second base for now, and Jackson Holliday could also eventually get another look.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Strong performance against Oakland
Altuve went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored Wednesday against the Athletics.
Altuve did the majority of his damage in the seventh inning when he doubled in a run and then came around to score. He's come out of the All-Star break hitting well, collecting eight hits across 24 at-bats.

Connor Norby 1B | MIA
Orioles' Connor Norby: Called up Thursday
The Orioles recalled Norby from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.
The rookie had been on the taxi squad while the Orioles evaluated Jorge Mateo (elbow), and Norby is now on the active roster after Mateo was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. The 24-year-old Norby will see some reps at second base while Mateo is out, though the team will also use Jordan Westburg at the keystone on days Ramon Urias handles third base. Norby will start at second base and bat eighth in Thursday's series finale in Miami.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Placed on IL with elbow injury
The Orioles placed Mateo on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left elbow subluxation.
Mateo suffered the partial dislocation of his elbow during Tuesday's game against the Marlins in a collision with teammate Gunnar Henderson. It's unclear how much time the infielder might miss, but an absence longer than the minimum 10 days is certainly possible. The Orioles recalled Connor Norby from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move to add depth in the infield.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Stays hot in loss
Torres went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 12-3 loss to the Mets.
Torres gave the Yankees a good start with a leadoff homer to begin the bottom of the first inning. The 27-year-old has homered in consecutive games after going 15 contests without a long ball dating back to June 29. The second baseman is up to 10 homers, 37 RBI, 45 runs scored, four stolen bases, 15 doubles and a .232/.308/.363 slash line through 98 games this season.

Connor Norby 1B | MIA
Orioles' Connor Norby: Promotion forthcoming
The Orioles will recall Norby from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.
The 24-year-old was added to the Orioles' taxi squad Wednesday after Jorge Mateo injured his elbow during Tuesday's loss to the Marlins. With an MRI on Wednesday revealing that Mateo dislocated his elbow, he'll be placed on the injured list Thursday, with Norby set to be called up in a corresponding move. Norby went 3-for-14 with a home run and two RBI during his first stint in the majors back in June, and he's posted a .967 OPS through 137 plate appearances since being optioned back to Triple-A.
