Solano was added to the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Solano was set to open Monday's game on the bench, but fellow infielder Kyle Farmer was scratched with a sore neck, and Solano will be the player who takes his place in the lineup. Solano will serve as the designated hitter and hit fifth against Mets starter Chris Bassitt.

Solano went 5-for-25 with two extra-base hits and three walks while starting in each of the past seven games, but he'll take a seat Monday with right-hander Chris Bassitt toeing the rubber for the Mets. The righty-hitting Solano will primarily handle a short-side platoon role at designated hitter moving forward, but his ability to play second base and third base will occasionally allow him to pick up work against righties when Jonathan India and Kyle Farmer need days off.

Hall went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs, a walk and three runs scored in Sunday's 13-1 win over Washington.

Hall went deep against Cory Abbott in the second and fourth innings. The 27-year-old rookie has hit three home runs in the last two games, giving him seven through 29 career games. He's now slashing .282/.321/.612 with 18 runs scored and 17 extra-base hits this season.

Walker went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Rockies.

Walker has homered thrice in six games in August, adding nine RBI and a double in that span. The first baseman's long ball Sunday opened the scoring in the first inning. He's up to 26 homers, 61 RBI and 48 runs scored on the year, but his slash line remains a little shaky at .203/.302/.451 through 434 plate appearances.

Hiura went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Reds.

In his second start since getting called up from Nashville, Hiura launched a 422-foot home run to right field against Hunter Strickland to send the game to extra innings. Hiura has now hit a home run in both starts since his promotion. Despite a 43.5 percent strikeout rate, the first baseman has been effective when given the opportunity in the big leagues, sporting a 132 wRC+ in 45 games. He could be a difference maker if he can keep the strikeouts in check and starts more regularly.

Lowe went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI in an 8-2 loss Sunday against the White Sox.

Lowe singled in his first two at-bats and hit a solo homer in the seventh off lefty Jake Diekman. Since the All-Star break, he has produced a .338/.378/.620 line with four homers in 74 plate appearances. He's moved up in the Rangers' lineup recently and has hit third or fourth in 10 of the last 11 games. The 27-year-old is on pace to have the best season of his big-league career and has a .285/.333/.464 line with 16 long balls through 103 contests.

Vaughn went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI in an 8-2 win Sunday in Texas.

Vaughn hit a two-run homer in the third and added singles in the sixth and eighth innings. It was his fourth multi-hit game in seven appearances in August and he's 11-for-26 with three extra-base hits and two walks in that span. The 24-year-old now has 11 homers and a .298/.349/.464 line in 86 games and has set career highs in hits and RBI.

The Pirates claimed Padlo off waivers and optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Padlo was designated for assignment by Seattle on Friday and will now join his third team of 2022. The 26-year-old is 4-for-22 in 10 games between the Mariners and Giants this year, but he's spent most of the year at the Triple-A level, where he has a .245/.327/.455 slash line in 60 contests between the two organizations.

Montero will start at first base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Though Montero doesn't have a clear-cut path to a full-time role at any spot, he'll pick up his sixth start in a row Sunday while having moved between first base, third base and designated hitter. Montero has made it tough for manager Bud Black to take him out of the lineup by going 7-for-17 with a home run and three doubles in his five starts since being recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. The rookie looks like he could continue to get steady run while Kris Bryant (foot) is on the injured list.

Santana is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Mitch Haniger (ankle) returned Saturday from a lengthy stay on the injured list and will step in as the Mariners' designated hitter Sunday, leaving no room in the lineup for Santana while Ty France handles duties at first base. Haniger should end up seeing most of his playing time in right field for the rest of the season, but his return could force Santana to battle with Kyle Lewis for one spot in the Mariners' everyday lineup.
