Diaz (groin) returned to the lineup Friday but said he is still sore when he runs, swings and plays defense, MLB.com reports.

Diaz missed only one full game with the injury and returned as the DH on Friday, when he went 0-for-3 with an RBI. Manager Kevin Cash hopes his first baseman will return to playing the field Saturday, but the skipper also noted the injury will require management for the rest of the season. Diaz has been one of the Rays' better hitters this season, so the team certainly won't want to keep him out of the lineup, but his recovery may ultimately dictate extra days off down the stretch.

Olson went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 10-7 win over the Brewers.

He took Bryse Wilson deep in the seventh inning, adding to Olson's NL-leading 33 homers on the season. The first baseman is slashing .301/.395/.575 through 20 games in July, and his .934 OPS on the year would be his highest mark since he rang up a 1.003 OPS in 2017 in his first extended stint in the majors.

Alonso went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Friday's 5-1 win over the Nationals.

After launching two homers against the Yankees on Tuesday, Alonso repeated the feat against a division rival, taking MacKenzie Gore deep in the fifth inning for a three-run shot before driving a Rico Garcia fastball over the wall in center field for two more runs in the seventh. Alonso's bat may have woken up too late to salvage the season for the Mets, but over his last eight games he's batting .400 (12-for-30) with seven extra-base hits (two doubles, a triple and four homers) and 11 RBI.

Naylor went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's 3-0 loss to the White Sox.

Naylor accounted for half of the Guardians' hits in the shutout loss. While the first baseman has gone nine games without a home run, he's smacked three doubles and gone 10-for-34 (.294) in that span. For the season, he's maintained a .309/.349/.510 slash line with 15 homers, 79 RBI, 41 runs scored, 25 doubles and six stolen bases over 378 plate appearances in a breakout campaign.

Steer went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-5 win over the Dodgers.

Steer's solo shot in the seventh inning sparked a three-run rally for the Reds. The infielder snapped his 18-game homer drought, which dated back to July 2. He hit .235 during the power outage, taking some of the shine off of what's been a strong first full season in the majors for the 25-year-old. Steer is at a .276/.362/.463 slash line with 15 homers, 56 RBI, 50 runs scored and nine stolen bases through 100 contests this year.

Casas went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two total RBI in Friday's 3-2 win over the Giants.

Casas was a thorn in the side of Giants ace Logan Webb, as the Boston first baseman hit an RBI double in the second inning and a solo shot in the fifth. This was Casas' fifth multi-hit effort during his active six-game hitting streak, a span in which he's homered four times and driven in eight RBI. The first baseman is up to a .256/.361/.491 slash line with 16 long balls, 40 RBI, 46 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples through 90 games this season. He's seen steady playing time with the Red Sox facing six straight right-handers, and that should continue through the weekend.

Wade was unavailable for Friday's game against the Red Sox due to back tightness, Steve Kroner of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wade was out of the lineup against an opposing righty starter in Kutter Crawford, and Giants manager Gabe Kapler clarified after the game that Wade's absence was due to injury (not performance related). With a .535 OPS in July, Wade could be at risk of losing out on starts -- or at least falling in the order vs. RHP -- if he doesn't pick it up soon. He should be considered day-to-day for now.

Abreu went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's loss to Tampa Bay.

After going 50 games without a homer to begin the season, Abreu now has nine in his last 50. His long ball in the fourth inning Friday tied the game against Rays ace Shane McClanahan. It's been a strange season for the veteran, but he's at least showing flashes of his old self. Abreu signed a three-year, $58.5 million contract with the Astros last November.

Wade is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

He finds himself on the bench against a right-hander (Kutter Crawford) as Wilmer Flores starts at first base. Wade has been regular atop the order against right-handed pitching, but he's batting just .205/.308/.227 so far in July and the Giants are looking to spark their sputtering offense. With that, it wouldn't be surprising to see Wade cede more starts to Flores moving forward.

Kirilloff (shoulder) is back in the lineup Friday at Kansas City.

The 25-year-old will cover first base and bat third versus right-hander Brady Singer after missing Wednesday's game because of minor shoulder soreness. Kirilloff has posted a solid .818 OPS with eight homers and 32 RBI through 67 games this season.
