    Bell and Jose Ramirez combined to drive in nine of Cleveland's 14 runs, with the former contributing a massive 464-foot two-run homer and a two-run double. The multi-hit performance was Bell's first since June 13, while his four RBI were a season high. The veteran had been slumping coming into Wednesday, batting .143 (5-for-35) with 13 strikeouts over his previous 10 games.

Vaughn is up to a .247/.329/.447 slash line with 12 homers, 49 RBI, 37 runs scored, 21 doubles and no stolen bases through 80 contests this season.

    This was Diaz's fifth multi-hit effort in his last 11 games, a span in which he's gone 19-for-46 (.413) with three doubles, four RBI and nine runs scored. The infielder continues to hit for a lofty average, which rose to .322 following Wednesday's strong game. He's added a .928 OPS, 38 RBI, 52 runs scored and 16 doubles through 68 contests this season, a vast improvement on his usually lackluster counting stats. Barring a second-half collapse, Diaz is on pace for career numbers nearly across the board.

    Young went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.

    Young started at DH and was eventually lifted for a pinch hitter, but not before he connected for his first MLB home run in the third inning against Aaron Nola. Young appeared in six games for the Cubs last season and Wednesday marked his 2023 debut. The 27-year-old looks mostly like organizational depth, though Chicago could give him some extended run at first base and DH if he's able to produce.

    Braves' Matt Olson: Launches 26th homer

    Olson went 2-for-4 with a homer, a double and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Twins.

    Olson got Atlanta on the board with a two-out double in the bottom of the first to score Ronald Acuna. The first baseman then carried on with his home run tear in the eighth, launching a solo shot to center field to give his team a 3-0 lead. Olson now has five home runs in his last six games to go along with 10 RBI and seven runs scored. His 26 long balls on the season currently lead the National League.

    Phillies' Kody Clemens: Not in lineup Wednesday

    Clemens is absent from the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.

    Chicago is throwing left-hander Drew Smyly, so Alec Bohm will cover first base and bat sixth with Edmundo Sosa handling third base and hitting eighth. Clemens is 3-for-19 with zero extra-base hits in limited action this year versus southpaws.

Lefty Clayton Kershaw was on the mound, pushing Nolan Jones to the bench, though he is likely to swap places with Montero when facing righties.
