  • Angels' Logan Porter: Inks minor-league deal with Halos

    The Angels signed Porter to a minor-league contract Friday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports. Porter was designated for assignment by the Giants on Monday. He elected free agency after being outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento, and he'll get a new opportunity with the Angels and report to Triple-A Salt Lake. Porter has spent the entire 2026 season in the minors, where he is slashing .241/.292/.362 with 10 RBI and four extra-base hits across 65 plate appearances.

Porter initiated the opt-out clause in his minor-league contract with the Giants earlier this week, and he's managed to land a big-league deal in a new organization. With Francisco Alvarez and Luis Torrens performing well as the Mets' catching duo, Porter will be assigned to Syracuse where he will provide depth. The 29-year-old is slashing .293/.390/.500 with eight home runs in 53 games this season at the Triple-A level.
