  • White Sox's Munetaka Murakami: Advancing in rehab program

White Sox manager Will Venable said Sunday that Murakami (hamstring) is increasing the intensity of his hitting and running at about 80 percent intensity, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Murakami received a platelet-rich plasma injection for his Grade 2 right hamstring strain after landing on the shelf in late May, after which he was given an initial recovery timeline of 4-to-6 weeks. The 29-year-old may require a minor-league rehab assignment before coming off the injured list, but he appears to be tracking toward a return before the All-Star break.

  • Vaughn Grissom 1B | LAA

Angels' Vaughn Grissom: Taking seat Sunday

Grissom is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

The Angels have been managing Grissom's workload since he returned from the injured list Wednesday. He'll head to the bench for the second time in five games since his activation, paving the way for Christian Moore to pick up a start at second base.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Guardians' Rhys Hoskins: On bench Sunday

Hoskins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Hoskins started the previous nine games and will receive a day off after batting .111 (4-for-36) with two doubles, a homer and 15 strikeouts during that stretch. Despite that poor form, the veteran slugger seems likely to see his fair share of opportunities while Chase DeLauter (ribs), Angel Martinez (foot) and Jose Ramirez (hand) are all on the IL.

  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

Rangers' Jake Burger: Homers in loss

Burger went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres. He was also hit by a pitch.

Burger gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead in the seventh inning with his 13th of the season. That extended a seven-game hit streak for the first baseman, who is a modest 7-for-26 (.269) during that stretch with four extra-base hits, including two HR, and five RBI. He got hit on the right hand in the ninth and was in obvious pain, according to Matt Postins of SI.com, but Burger was cleared by team trainers and finished the contest at first base.

  • Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt: Taking seat Sunday

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

The 38-year-old will get a breather after he had started at first base or designated hitter in every contest dating back to May 20. Goldschmidt has enjoyed a resurgent 2026 campaign, with his .901 OPS placing him behind only Ben Rice and Aaron Judge (rib) among all Yankees players.

  • Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt: Homers again Saturday

Goldschmidt went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Saturday in a loss to Cincinnati.

Goldschmidt logged New York's only extra-base hit by taking Andrew Abbott deep in the first inning. The veteran first baseman continues to roll, as the long ball was his fourth over his past seven games. Since May 25, Goldschmidt has posted an impressive .326/.350/.579 slash line with seven home runs and 23 RBI over 22 contests, pushing his season OPS up to .901.

  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Drives in three runs Saturday

Manzardo went 2-for-4 with a home run and three total RBI in an 8-1 victory versus the Astros on Saturday.

Manzardo broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run homer to the opposite field in the third inning. He capped the scoring in the contest with a run-scoring single in the seventh. Manzardo has gone deep twice in his past three games to push his total to nine home runs on the season. Though he's often sat against lefty starters this season, Manzardo has been in the lineup the past two times Cleveland has faced a southpaw, and his bat has become more important due to Jose Ramirez (hand) being in the midst of an extended absence.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: In Saturday's lineup

Guerrero (back) will start at first base and bat third Saturday against the Cubs.

Guerrero was forced out of Friday's game early due to a back injury, but it won't prevent him from missing a start. The 27-year-old has been trending downward since the beginning of June, slashing just .189/.241/.302 with six RBI and five runs scored across 14 games this month.

  • Charles McAdoo 1B | TOR

Blue Jays' Charles McAdoo: Sent down to Triple-A

The Blue Jays optioned McAdoo to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.

The 24-year-old will end up as the odd man out of a roster spot following Daulton Varsho's (wrist) return from the injured list. McAdoo went just 4-for-25 at the plate across eight games during his stint in the big leagues but could still return to the majors later this season if the Blue Jays run into problems with their infield depth.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Guardians' Rhys Hoskins: Homers in loss

Hoskins went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 9-3 loss to Houston.

Hoskins helped the Guardians overcome an early deficit with a two-run home run as part of a three-run third inning. The homer was the seventh of the season and first in 11 games for Hoskins, who entered the contest having gone 3-for-26 with zero RBI and 15 strikeouts over the previous 10 games. For the season, he's slashing .179/.318/.370 over 214 plate appearances.
