    The Steelers waived Jones on Wednesday, Dale Lolley of the team's official site reports. Jones signed a one-year contract with Pittsburgh in February, but he won't make it with the team to OTAs.The linebacker served as a special teams option in 2022, compiling a career-high 10 tackles over 17 contests.

    Jones was claimed off of waivers by the Rams on Wednesday. Jones was waived by the Steelers on Tuesday, but he quickly found a new home. He figures to fill a role primarily on special teams, but could also serve as a depth linebacker. In three games in Pittsburgh this season, Jones recorded three tackles.

  • Steelers' Jamir Jones: Inks deal with Steelers

    Jones agreed to a contract with the Steelers on Wednesday, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. After going undrafted out of Notre Dame in 2020, Jones spent time with the Texans, but he has yet to make his NFL debut. He'll work to compete for a depth role at linebacker with Pittsburgh this offseason.
