  Finley was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports. Finley is the odd man out on Seattle's 53-man roster after the team signed running back Robert Henry off Washington's practice squad. The safety appeared in each of the team's last three contests, compiling five total tackles (three solo). Finley will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, there's a strong chance he would join the Seahawks' practice squad.

• Seahawks' AJ Finley: Suited up for camp

  Finley (knee) is participating at the Seahawks' training camp, Kevin Clark of The Seattle Times reports. Finley spent the 2025 season on Seattle's injured-reserve list with a knee injury, but he appears to be back at full strength for training camp. In four regular-season games with the Seahawks in 2024, he played 68 total snaps, 62 of which came on special teams.

• Seahawks' AJ Finley: Sticking around Seattle

Finley will remain in Seattle after spending the entirety of the 2025 campaign on injured reserve with a knee issue. The safety will look to return to full health and compete for defensive snaps in the Seahawks' secondary in 2026.

Finley was injured in practice over the weekend and will now spend the 2025 campaign on injured reserve unless he's cut with an injury settlement at a later date. Finley has appeared in 26 regular-season games with the Chargers and Seahawks over the last two seasons.

  Finley suffered a knee injury at practice Saturday, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports. Finley sustained the knee injury on a touchdown catch by wide receiver Dareke Young, and after practice head coach Mike Macdonald said the initial reports weren't good for the safety. Finley seems likely to be sidelined for a while, almost certainly missing Thursday's preseason opener against the Raiders.

• Seahawks' AJ Finley: Sidelined for Week 13

  Finley (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets. After being let go by the Chargers on Monday, Finley was claimed off waivers by the Seahawks on Tuesday. The 23-year-old safety was able to practice in full Friday, but he will be held out of Sunday's game due to an ankle injury. Finley's next chance to make his Seahawks debut will be Week 14 against the Cardinals on Sunday, Dec. 8.

  The Chargers waived Finley on Saturday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Finley joined the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in April. He made the 53-man roster after training camp but was unable to see the field in two games this season. Finley will look to continue his NFL dream once he clears waivers.
