  • Brandon Hill: Works out with Atlanta

The Falcons hosted Hill (leg) for a workout Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Hill was waived by the Texans in March with a failed physical designation due to a right leg injury that he sustained during training camp in August of 2024. He appears to have fully recovered from the injury and is looking to catch on with a team in need of help at safety and on special teams. Hill last saw regular-season action in 2023 with the Texans, when he served mostly on special teams across two games.

  • Brandon Hill: Let go by Houston

Hill was waived by the Texans with a failed physical designation Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Hill missed the entire 2024 season while nursing a right leg injury, which still appears to be not fully healed. The safety will look to latch on elsewhere ahead of the 2025 campaign. Hill has yet to record a tackle in his NFL career, playing two games with the Texans in 2023 and logging 25 snaps on special teams, but only two on defense.

  • Texans' Brandon Hill: Set to miss 2024 season

Hill (leg) was placed on injured reserve by the Texans on Tuesday. Hill suffered a significant right leg injury in Saturday's preseason finale against the Rams, which will now force him to miss the entirety of the 2024 campaign. The safety will now shift his focus to being ready to go for training camp next summer.

  • Texans' Brandon Hill: Injury considered serious

Hill is believed to have sustained a serious injury to his right leg in Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Hill was down on the field for an extended period of time before being carted off the field and into the locker room. Across his four outings in the preseason, Hill recorded eight tackles (four solo) and one interception. The severity of Hill's injury will likely factor into the Texans' roster decision for the 2023 seventh-round pick.

  • Texans' Brandon Hill: Carted off

Hill was carted off with a right leg injury during Houston's preseason game against the Rams on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The safety did not record a stat before exiting. Hill is fighting for a roster spot after appearing in two games and making no tackles for the Texans last year.

  • Texans' Brandon Hill: Houston adds fast safety

The Texans selected Hill in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 248th overall. Hill is something like a cornerback-safety tweener out of Pittsburgh, though for the opposite reasons you usually see. Rather than being an otherwise competent corner who lacks speed and needs to switch to safety, Hill has cornerback athleticism (4.43-second 40 at 5-foot-10, 193 pounds) but lacks the coverage fundamentals to play there. DeMeco Ryans might be able to help Hill make his game more complete.
