  • Steelers' Max Iheanachor: Not practicing Monday

Iheanachor (shoulder) is not participating at the Steelers' training camp practice Monday, Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. There's still no concrete timetable for Iheanachor's return to the field, but Pittsburgh may take a more conservative approach with the 2026 first-round pick. In his stead, Dylan Cook and Broderick Jones will be the clear favorites for reps with the first team at whichever tackle spot is open opposite 2024 first-rounder Troy Fautanu.

  • Steelers' Max Iheanachor: Dealing with upper-body injury

Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy said Friday that Iheanachor (upper body) will be held out of practice until Monday, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. It's not clear when Iheanachor sustained the injury, but he'll be held out of practice over the weekend and focus on rest and recovery ahead of Thursday's preseason opener against Green Bay. Iheanachor was a first-round selection of the Steelers in the 2026 NFL Draft and is battling for a starting role on the offensive line.

  • Steelers' Max Iheanachor: Selected by Steelers

The Steelers selected Iheanachor in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 21st overall. Iheanachor (6-foot-6, 321 pounds) is light on experience but extremely athletic, boasting a 4.91-second 40 (96th percentile among offensive tackles, according to Mockdraftable) even at a dense build. It's not clear how concerning the medical reports have been on incumbent left tackle Broderick Jones (neck), but it's possible that the Steelers will consider Iheanachor at left guard if he doesn't claim the starting left tackle role.
