Robinson spent last year on the Panthers' practice squad as an intriguing safety, but he has yet to put it all together at the NFL level. It appears Carolina caught a break, as the injury appeared much worse than initially anticipated.

Robinson cleared waivers Sunday and signed with the Panthers' practice squad, Alaina Getzenberg of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Robinson played safety at West Virginia before leaving school early to join the XFL, but the headstart as a professional wasn't enough to secure a roster spot. He's an intriguing, speedy player with ball-hawk abilities, but the 21-year-old is still raw and will need to develop on the practice squad to begin the season.
