    The Steelers waived Ogundeji on Monday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Ogundeji defended one pass across 15 defensive snaps in the Steelers' Week 6 win over the Raiders, but it now appears the team has decided to move in a different direction. The Notre Dame product could end up on the Steelers' practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Ogundeji missed the Falcons' win over the Panthers on Sunday, but a return to practicing in full should have him ready to take the field Sunday against the 49ers. The rookie fifth-round selection has 24 tackles (14 solo) with one sack, one passed defensed and a fumble recovery in a reserve role in the Falcons' linebacker unit.
