  • Griff McGarry SP | PHI

Dodgers' Griff McGarry: Traded to Dodgers

The Dodgers acquired McGarry from the Phillies on Tuesday in exchange for international bonus pool money.

McGarry was returned to the Phillies after failing to make the Nationals' roster as a Rule 5 pick, and he's now on the move again. The 26-year-old has a big arm but has really struggled with command and control, having posted a career walk rate of 15.9 percent. The Dodgers will try to coax more out of him.

  • Josh Hader RP | HOU

Astros' Josh Hader: Throwing live BP

Hader (biceps) is throwing live batting practice Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The veteran left-hander has been throwing bullpen sessions for a while and has finally been cleared to face live batters after sitting out all of spring training due to biceps inflammation. Making his season debut for the Astros before the end of April still appears to be in play. However, early May seems more realistic for Hader given that he's likely to require a handful of rehab outings in the minors before being fully cleared.

  • Jahmai Jones 2B | DET

Tigers' Jahmai Jones: Battling stomach bug

Jones is not in the Tigers' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals due to a stomach bug, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

It's bad timing, as the Tigers are facing their first lefty of the season in Cole Ragans, and Jones is on the roster almost entirely for his ability to hit southpaws. Consider him day-to-day. Gleyber Torres will be the designated hitter, and Zach McKinstry will get a start at second base Tuesday.

  • Parker Meadows CF | DET

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Expected to miss 'multiple months'

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that Meadows underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a left radius fracture and will be sidelined "multiple months," Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Meadows is also recovering from a concussion. He's already been moved to the 60-day injured list, and there remains no clear timetable for his return at this point. Javier Baez has seen more action in center field since Meadows went down, and Matt Vierling and Wenceel Perez have also experienced an elevated role.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Moves to IL with oblique strain

The Diamondbacks placed Moreno on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to April 11, due to a left oblique strain.

Manager Torey Lovullo previously indicated that Moreno would be placed on the injured list after exiting early Friday versus the Phillies, but the diagnosis of an oblique strain is a significant development after he was initially said to be dealing with lower-back tightness. The 26-year-old is without an official timeline for his return but will be eligible to be reinstated April 21, though a longer absence seems likely given the nature of the injury. Aramis Garcia was called up to provide some more catching depth, but it'll likely be James McCann and Adrian Del Castillo that see more consistent work behind the plate for Arizona.

  • Pavin Smith RF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Pavin Smith: Transferred to 60-day IL

The Diamondbacks transferred Smith (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Smith has been out for most of this season with a left elbow injury that dates back to spring training. His move to the 60-day injured list suggests he's not very far along in his recovery, and he now will not be eligible to return until late May.

  • Diamondbacks' Aramis Garcia: Contract selected

The Diamondbacks selected Garcia's contract from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Garcia is taking the roster spot of the injured Gabriel Moreno (oblique). James McCann will handle the bulk of the catching duties for Arizona while Moreno is out, but the presence of Garcia will allow Adrian Del Castillo to focus mostly on designated-hitter duties.

  • Merrill Kelly SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly: Activated ahead of season debut

The Diamondbacks activated Kelly (back) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Kelly is set to make his season debut Tuesday in Baltimore after getting a late start due to a back injury. The veteran right-hander threw six innings and 83 pitches in an extended spring training game last week, so he should be able to handle close to a full workload against the Orioles. Brandon Pfaadt has been demoted to the Diamondbacks' bullpen to accommodate the return of Kelly.

  • Mickey Moniak CF | COL

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Out against left-hander

Moniak is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Houston.

The Rockies are facing a lefty for just the second time this season, and the left-handed-hitting Moniak has been out of the lineup for both of those contests. Fellow lefty bat Jake McCarthy will handle left field, and the right-handed-hitting Jordan Beck will patrol right field in the series opener.

  • Blue Jays' Tyler Fitzgerald: Sent to Triple-A

The Blue Jays optioned Fitzgerald to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old was called up by Toronto last week after being acquired from San Francisco but will return to the minors with Lenyn Sosa joining the Blue Jays' active roster. Fitzgerald didn't see the field during his brief time up with the big club.
