The Twins placed Buxton on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right hip impingement.

Buxton's hip has been giving him trouble since the end of June, and this is now the second time in three weeks he's gone on the injured list due to an impingement. Luke Keaschall and Alan Roden figure to start regularly in the outfield while Buxton is out, and the Twins will promote Tristan Gray from Triple-A to bolser their bench depth.

Jones (2-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings.

Jones was perfect through the first three innings on just 29 pitches before Arizona finally broke through. A leadoff double in the fourth was followed by Gabriel Moreno's two-run homer, and Jones later surrendered another run in the sixth. The three runs matched the combined total he had allowed over his previous four starts. After failing to complete six frames in any of his first seven outings this season, Jones has now reached that mark in three of his last four outings. He'll carry a 3.81 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 58:15 K:BB into his next start, scheduled tentatively for Tuesday against the Brewers.

Treinen (elbow) will face live hitters Wednesday, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

Treinen landed on the injured list in late June due to right elbow inflammation, but the good news was that an MRI did not show signs of structural damage. He was cleared to play catch before the All-Star break and is ready to take the next step in his rehab by throwing off a mound. The Dodgers should have a better sense of Treinen's recovery timeline once the veteran right-hander is cleared to embark on a rehab assignment.

Garcia felt renewed pain in his left hand while playing in a rehab game at Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Tuesday marked Garcia's return to game action after landing on the injured list in late June with a strained muscle in his left hand. He was originally slated to play another game Wednesday, but he'll instead return to Kansas City for further evaluation. An updated timeline for his return could emerge after the team takes a closer look at him.

The Cubs selected Woodford's contract from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday.

Woodford elected to enter free agency July 17 after being DFA'd by the Cubs six days earlier, but he opted to remain in the organization on a minor-league contract. He's now back with the big club, with the Cubs designating Andrew Wantz for assignment in a corresponding move. Woodford has appeared in 17 games between the Cubs and Brewers this season and has a 7.46 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB across 25.1 innings.

Caceres is slashing .294/.368/.500 with one home run in eight games for High-A Lake County.

The 18-year-old Venezuelan phenom was promoted from Single-A Hill City on July 13 after logging a 154 wRC+ with 10 home runs, seven steals, a 13.1 percent walk rate and a 9.7 percent strikeout rate in 52 games as one of the youngest players in the Carolina League. Caceres, who turns 19 in August, has showcased a five-category skill set headlined by a premium hit tool while being younger than most of the pitchers he has faced this year.

The Red Sox placed Mead (wrist) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

The Red Sox don't expect Mead to require surgery to repair his fractured left wrist and anticipate him remaining out for roughly 6-to-8 weeks, per Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com, leaving room for Mead to return to action in the final few weeks of the regular season. With Boston also navigating injuries to Marcelo Mayer (forearm), Isiah Kiner-Falefa (forearm) and Trevor Story (abdomen), Anthony Seigler and Romy Gonzalez are the top candidates to start at second base for the time being. Nick Sogard will join the big club in a corresponding move to add depth.

Rodriguez (10-3) earned the win Wednesday against the Pirates, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out two over eight scoreless innings.

Rodriguez never faced more than four batters in an inning and retired nine straight hitters at one point during his dominant outing. He generated 15 whiffs despite recording just two strikeouts and limited Pittsburgh to only five hard-hit balls. Wednesday's outing marked the second time this season he has completed eight innings. Rodriguez has now won five of his last six decisions and will carry a 2.48 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 88:45 K:BB into his next scheduled start Tuesday against the Padres.

Soler isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Soler will take a seat to begin Wednesday's contest after going 2-for-6 with three walks and an RBI across the first two games of the series. Mike Trout will fill in as the Halos' designated hitter while Wade Meckler, Josh Lowe and Jo Adell start across the outfield.

The Astros reinstated Wesneski (elbow) from the injured list ahead of his start Wednesday against the Angels.

Wesneski's start will mark his first appearance on a big-league mound since May 2025, as he's been on the shelf for more than a year recovering from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander has made five appearances in the minor leagues over the past month, however, turning in a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP alongside a 21:4 K:BB in 20 innings. Miguel Ullola was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move.
