The Dodgers designated Hernandez for assignment Wednesday.

Hernandez will be pushed off the Dodgers' 40-man roster for the second time in as many weeks to make room for Brock Stewart (shoulder), who returned from the injured list Wednesday. Hernandez has logged a 5.68 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 25.1 innings in the majors this year and is likely to clear waivers again.

The Dodgers reinstated Stewart (shoulder) from the injured list Wednesday.

Stewart landed on the injured list at the end of July due to shoulder tendinitis, and he's now been cleared to rejoin the Dodgers' bullpen without playing in any rehab games. The 34-year-old lefty has given up just four earned runs in 14.2 innings this season, and he could be a candidate to pick up an occasional save while Edwin Diaz (neck) is on the injured list.

DeGrom (triceps) has been cleared to start Thursday's game against the Nationals in Arlington, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

DeGrom experienced right triceps fatigue in his previous start last Thursday against the Angels, throwing just two innings before exiting the contest. Imaging over the weekend revealed nothing concerning, and after checking out fine following a bullpen session Tuesday, deGrom will be ready to make his next turn through the rotation. DeGrom hasn't completed six frames in any of his last six starts, and it's possible that the Rangers look to monitor his workload carefully coming back from the arm issue.

The Rockies reinstated Hill (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Right shoulder tendinitis has kept Hill out of action since late June, but he's now been cleared to return after spending nearly two months on the shelf. The 26-year-old posted a 5.06 ERA and 1.65 WHIP over 26.2 innings before getting hurt, but Colorado's lack of bullpen depth could allow him to work in high-leverage situations, as he already has two saves and 11 holds on the season. TJ Shook was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Gilbert is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

After starting each of the last three games, the left-handed-hitting Gilbert will head to the bench while southpaw Parker Messick takes the hill for the Guardians. Jonah Cox will spell Gilbert in center field and bat leadoff.

Giants manager Tony Vitello indicated Wednesday that Mayer (forearm) could return from the 10-day injured list and make his team debut Monday versus the Reds, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Vitello had previously floated the possibility of Mayer being activated from the 10-day injured list this weekend, and while a return to action for the team's series in Boston hasn't been ruled out, the Giants seem to be leaning toward waiting until the start of a homestand Monday to reinstate the infielder. Mayer has been out since late June with a left forearm stress reaction but has played four rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento, going 6-for-17 with one home run and a 2:9 BB:K while making three starts at second base and one at third base. Once activated, Mayer should be in line for an everyday role in the San Francisco infield.

The Rockies selected Manfredi's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

Manfredi joined the Rockies organization at the trade deadline as part of the deal that sent Antonio Senzatela to Milwaukee. The 26-year-old righty owns a 4.45 ERA and 1.38 WHIP across 28.1 innings at Triple-A this season but has given up six runs in just five frames with Albuquerque since being traded. Despite his recent performance, the Rockies will add him to their bullpen to provide a fresh arm. Parker Mushinski was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

The Rockies optioned Shook to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

Shook was recalled by the Rockies on Monday and pitched the same night against the Dodgers, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one batter across two innings. Colorado will shuffle its bullpen again Wednesday, with Shook going back down to the minors and left-hander Mark Manfredi coming up from Albuquerque to replace him. Shook has spent most of the 2026 season in Triple-A, where he has a 3.02 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 45:24 K:BB over 47.2 innings.

Hamilton is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Mariners.

Hamilton typically starts against most righties, but with Cooper Pratt back from the injured list to take over at shortstop, Hamilton and Joey Ortiz will be mixed and matched at third base. It's Ortiz at the hot corner for the Brewers on Wednesday.

Mitchell is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Mariners.

Logan Gilbert is on the bump for the Mariners, marking the first time since July 7 that the left-handed-hitting Mitchell isn't starting versus a righty hurler. Luis Lara will handle center field and Jake Bauers will be in right field for Milwaukee.
