Weston joined the Mets via waivers Sept. 3 and has since fired 4.1 scoreless innings while fanning eight batters across three appearances at Syracuse. He'll now get a chance to showcase his talents in the majors, replacing Xzavion Curry on the active roster.

The Mets claimed Weston off waivers from the Orioles on Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.
Weston pitched a scoreless inning during his MLB debut back in May but owns a 7.89 ERA and 1.94 WHIP through 51.1 frames in the minors. The Mets will add the 26-year-old to their 40-man roster despite his poor performance and keep him at Triple-A, where he is likely to remain for the remainder of the season. Shawn Ross was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
