Spencer Strider SP | ATL
Braves' Spencer Strider: Moved to IL
Atlanta placed Strider (oblique) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.
Manager Walt Weiss had previously confirmed Monday that Strider would be headed to the IL after the right-hander strained his left oblique after making a start in a minor-league spring game against the Red Sox last week. Though Weiss is optimistic that Atlanta got out in front of Strider's injury before it worsened, the 27-year-old isn't a lock to be activated from the IL when first eligible April 6. Jose Suarez is the leading candidate to enter the rotation as Atlanta's new No. 5 starter while Strider is on the mend.

David Festa P | MIN
Twins' David Festa: Hits 15-day IL
The Twins placed Festa (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.
Festa recently resumed a throwing program after being shut down in late February due to a right shoulder impingement, so his move to the IL was fully expected. He could be ready to return from the IL at some point in the second half of April.

Maximo Acosta SS | MIA
Marlins' Maximo Acosta: Sidelined with oblique strain
The Marlins placed Acosta (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Acosta will be shelved for at least the first couple weeks of the season with a left oblique strain. He could be assigned to Triple-A Jacksonville rather than the major-league club once he's healthy and completes a rehab assignment.

Kyle Stowers LF | MIA
Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Moves to IL
The Marlins placed Stowers (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Stowers was diagnosed Sunday with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain and is expected to need 3-to-4 weeks to make a full recovery. With Stowers opening the season on the shelf, the Marlins should have regular reps available in the corner outfield for Griffin Conine and Owen Caissie, and the right-handed-hitting Heriberto Hernandez could see more opportunities against righties after he previously appeared to be in line for a short-side platoon role.

Ryan Weathers SP | NYY
Yankees' Ryan Weathers: Ends spring on positive note
Weathers completed five innings in Tuesday's exhibition game against the Cubs, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters.
Weathers entered as a reliever in the third inning but got in a healthy workload of five frames spanning 80 pitches (57 strikes). He held Chicago to just one run on a Miguel Amaya solo homer. Weathers had a bumpy spring and finished the exhibition slate with an 8.83 ERA and 1.79 WHIP across 17.1 innings, but he did register an impressive 21:4 K:BB. The left-hander has been tabbed to be part of New York's season-opening rotation and is tentatively slated to make his first start Monday in Seattle.

Nick Lodolo SP | CIN
Reds' Nick Lodolo: Move to IL official
The Reds placed Lodolo (finger) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.
Lodolo had been slated to pitch during the Reds' first series of the season but will instead hit the shelf after he exited his final Grapefruit League start last weekend when he developed a blister on his left index finger. The southpaw was able to resume playing catch Tuesday, so assuming his finger presents no further issues for him while he builds back up, he could be ready to return from the IL when first eligible April 7.
