Stewart (foot) will begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Ontario on Friday.

Stewart began facing live hitters in batting practice last weekend, and he's now been cleared to return to a competitive setting as he enters the final stretch in his recovery from a bone spur in his left foot. It's unclear exactly how long the Dodgers plan to keep the right-hander in the minors, but he could require a handful of rehab appearances after sitting out more than a month.

The Tigers optioned Brieske to Triple-A Toledo following Thursday's game against the Twins.

Both Brieske and Brenan Hanifee will head down to Triple-A to make room on the Tigers' 26-man roster for both Kenley Jansen and Jacob Waguespack. Brieske has tossed 2.2 scoreless innings over his last two outings and could return to the majors this season should the Tigers require right-handed depth out of the bullpen.

The Tigers selected Waguespack's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

The Tigers acquired Waguespack from the Brewers on Wednesday, and the right-hander will operate out of Detroit's bullpen after both Beau Brieske and Zack Short were optioned to Triple-A in corresponding moves. Waguespack has spent the entire 2026 season in Triple-A, where he has a 1.74 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 32:15 K:BB across 20.2 innings. He last saw major-league action in 2024 with the Rays, when he allowed six earned runs on 13 hits and 10 walks while striking out 11 across 10 innings.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch confirmed Friday that Mize (adductor) will rejoin the rotation with a start Sunday in Cleveland, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Mize has been out since late May with right adductor inflammation, but he's ready to roll after tossing five frames of one-run ball with five strikeouts in his lone rehab start with Single-A Lakeland on Tuesday. He threw 55 pitches Tuesday and hasn't had a full workload in three weeks, so Mize might not pitch deep into Sunday's contest.

Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said Friday that he expects Lindor (calf) to return "this month," Chelsea Janes of SNY.tv reports.

Lindor played two simulated innings against a minor-league pitcher Friday, and he will repeat that step multiple times next week. The 32-year-old is expected to require a brief rehab assignment after that. Lindor might be ready to rejoin the active roster by the Mets' next homestand that begins June 22, which would be exactly two months since he sustained a left calf strain that sent him to the injured list.

Pederson (hip) is batting leadoff as the designated hitter Friday against the Red Sox.

The veteran slugger sat out Thursday's series finale in Kansas City after exiting Wednesday's contest due to left hip discomfort, but he's ready to go after sitting out one game. Pederson had a hot start to June -- going 5-for-12 with three extra-base hits in the first three contests of the month -- but he has just one hit across his past five games.

Seager is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.

Seager is batting .238 (5-for-21) with two homers and for RBI in five games since returning from the injured list last week, and he'll receive a day off Friday after starting the previous three contests. Ezequiel Duran will pick up a start shortstop for the series opener in Boston.

Martin is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals.

The right-handed-hitting Martin could be losing his grip on a regular role against right-handed pitching. He's now been left out of the starting nine twice in the Twins' last three matchups with righties, and in the game he did start, he batted ninth. Martin is slashing an ugly .138/.219/.207 over his last 25 contests. Kody Clemens will cover right field for Minnesota on Friday.

The Tigers reinstated Jansen (pelvis) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

The veteran right-hander landed on the injured list in late May due to right pelvic inflammation, but he's back on the active roster after spending the 15-day minimum on the shelf. Jansen surrendered three runs on two hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning during his lone rehab outing with Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday. Despite having four blown saves and an underwhelming 4.80 ERA through 18 appearances this year, Jansen is expected to serve as Detroit's primary closer now that he's healthy.

The Cardinals transferred Urias (elbows) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Blaze Jordan. Urias has been out since early May with tennis elbow in his right arm, and he had to be pulled off a rehab assignment last week after developing the same injury to his other elbow. There's no timetable for his return.
