Skenes (6-8) took the loss Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out five.

Five of the runs charged to Skenes came in the second inning, which was capped by Trea Turner's three-run homer. The 24-year-old Skenes has now gone nine straight starts without a win, posting a 5.36 ERA across 47 frames in what's been the first extended rut of his MLB career. Overall, Skenes sports a 3.62 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP and 119:22 K:BB across 18 starts (97 innings) this season. His next start is tentatively scheduled to come against Atlanta at home.

Lugo (3-6) took the loss Wednesday against the Rays, allowing three runs on nine hits over six innings. He struck out seven.

Lugo got off to a shaky start Wednesday, allowing a two-run homer to Junior Caminero in the first inning. He'd settle in and hold the Rays scoreless until Cedric Mullins launched a solo shot with two outs in the sixth, though the Royals failed to provide Lugo with any run support in an eventual 4-0 defeat. Despite the loss, it was an encouraging bounce-back effort from Lugo, who gave up seven runs in five innings during his previous outing (also against Tampa Bay). The veteran right-hander now sports a 4.20 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 76:30 K:BB across 17 starts (96.1 innings). Lugo is currently lined up to face the Phillies at home his next time out.

Atlanta will skip Elder's turn in the rotation this week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Elder had been lined up to make his next start Friday against the Mets, but Atlanta will give him extra time to rest after he displayed diminished velocity during his last outing Saturday. Grant Holmes will now take the mound to begin Friday's contest. Meanwhile, Elder's next start is likely to come next week in Pittsburgh.

McClanahan (7-5) earned the win Wednesday over the Royals, allowing three hits and no walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out four.

McClanahan certainly appeared to benefit from the extra rest he got after Tampa Bay elected to skip his last turn in the rotation. The southpaw was excellent Wednesday, as he blanked Kansas City to earn his first win since May 31. McClanahan turned the page on a rough month of June, during which he went 0-3 with a 5.79 ERA across four starts (18.2 innings). His ERA now sits at 3.05 through 16 starts (79.2 innings) this season with a 1.17 WHIP and 77:28 K:BB. McClanahan is tentatively lined up to face the Yankees at home his next time out.

Corbin secured the save Wednesday against the Mets, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks over five innings in a 9-3 win. He struck out five.

The save was the first of the season for the 36-year-old southpaw, who mopped up after opener Braydon Fisher worked one inning and Spencer Miles had handled three more while the Blue Jays built a 5-0 lead. Corbin struggled mightily as a starter last month, posting an 8.69 ERA over 19.2 innings in June, so it would make sense for Toronto to continue using him out of the bullpen. Through 74 innings this year, Corbin has a 5.11 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 57:24 K:BB.

Caminero went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Royals.

Caminero put the Rays ahead early with his two-run, 425-foot blast off Seth Lugo in the first inning. Caminero has now gone deep in six straight games, tying a Rays franchise record, while going 14-for-31 (.452) with nine homers in his last eight contests. The 22-year-old third baseman is now slashing .293/.383/.561 with 24 homers, 54 RBI and 54 runs scored across 363 plate appearances this season.

Delgado was removed from Wednesday's game against Minnesota due to a dislocated pinky on his right hand.

A groundball off the bat of Trevor Larnach bounced off of second base and connected with Delgado's right hand, forcing the latter to come out of the game in the fifth inning. It's unclear if the injury to his throwing hand will require a trip to the injured list.

Peralta (5-7) took the loss Wednesday against the Blue Jays, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out four.

Hard contact was a problem for Peralta, who gave up three extra-base hits (one home run). The 30-year-old right-hander endured another laborious start, needing 91 pitches to complete four innings, and his lack of efficiency has prevented him from working at least six frames in four consecutive appearances. Peralta will carry a disappointing 4.81 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 92:38 K:BB across 95.1 innings into his next scheduled outing against Atlanta.

McGreevy (3-7) took the loss Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.

McGreevy has now gone nine straight outings without a win despite logging quality starts in five of his last six appearances, posting a 3.34 ERA in that span (35 innings). Overall, the right-hander sports a strong 3.12 ERA this season with a 1.11 WHIP and 60:22 K:BB across 17 starts (95.1 innings). McGreevy is currently slated to face the Brewers at home his next time out.

Lopez (4-1) earned the win Wednesday over St. Louis, allowing a run on two hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out six.

Making a second straight start, Lopez would give up a run in the first inning before settling in and holding the Cardinals without a hit over his final four frames. After a rough start to the year, Lopez has turned things around of late, posting a 2.70 ERA over his last 11 appearances (23.1 innings). Lopez looks to have earned another chance in Atlanta's rotation going forward -- he's currently slated to face the Mets at home in his next outing.
