Sung-Mun Song 2B | SD
Padres' Sung-Mun Song: Officially placed on IL
The Padres placed Song (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Song remains on the mend from the right oblique strain that he aggravated in March. He'll open the season on the IL and can make his MLB debut as soon as April 1, but MLB.com relays that he's trending toward a mid-April return. Song was able to play in a minor-league game on the back fields of camp this past Sunday, so he could be ready to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A El Paso when the season gets underway this weekend.

Jose Barrero SS | BAL
Orioles' Jose Barrero: Sent to minors
The Orioles reassigned Barrero to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Barrero appeared in 22 games at the big-league level with St. Louis in 2025, but he finished last season in the Orioles organization as a member of the Norfolk roster and will return to the affiliate to begin the 2026 campaign. The 27-year-old came up short in his bid for a utility spot on the Orioles' Opening Day roster after slashing just .105/.150/.289 over 40 plate appearances during the Grapefruit League.

Sam Huff C | BAL
Orioles' Sam Huff: Moves to minor leagues
The Orioles reassigned Huff to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Huff will head to the minors to begin the season after the Orioles weren't compelled to carry him on the Opening Day roster as a third catcher behind Adley Rutschman and Samuel Basallo. As a member of the Giants organization last season, Huff saw action in 20 games at the big-league level and slashed .208/.259/.340 with two home runs and four RBI over 58 plate appearances.

Weston Wilson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Weston Wilson: Opening season in minors
The Orioles reassigned Wilson to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
While attending camp as a non-roster invitee, Wilson had been in the mix for a bench role on the Orioles' Opening Day squad but ultimately lost out in the job battle to Jeremiah Jackson. Wilson, who is in his first season in the Orioles organization, slashed .198/.282/.369 with five home runs and two stolen bases across 125 plate appearances in the big leagues with Philadelphia in 2025.
-
Albert Suarez RP | BAL
Orioles' Albert Suarez: Sent out to Norfolk
The Orioles reassigned Suarez to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Suarez wasn't able to secure a starting or long-relief role on the Orioles' Opening Day roster, but the 36-year-old will provide the organization with valuable depth at the Triple-A level. The right-hander made five appearances (one start) at the big-league level in 2025, giving up three earned runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out 10 over 11.2 innings.

Tyler Wade SS | TEX
Rangers' Tyler Wade: Headed to Round Rock
The Rangers reassigned Wade to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
After failing to win a spot on the Rangers' Opening Day roster, Wade looks like he'll stick around in the organization as utility depth at Triple-A. The 31-year-old saw action in 60 big-league games for the Padres in 2025, slashing .206/.309/.252 with no home runs, one stolen base, 13 runs and nine RBI across 127 plate appearances.

Josh Sborz RP | TEX
Rangers' Josh Sborz: Misses out on Opening Day roster
The Rangers reassigned Sborz to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
Sborz fell short in his bid for a spot in the Texas bullpen after yielding five earned runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out eight batters across nine innings during the Cactus League. The right-hander will likely to slot into a high-leverage role in the Round Rock bullpen and could merit consideration for a call-up if he's able to recapture the form that he displayed before undergoing shoulder surgery in November 2024.

Austin Gomber SP | TEX
Rangers' Austin Gomber: Denied Opening Day roster spot
The Rangers reassigned Gomber to minor-league camp Wednesday.
The Rangers closed out spring training with the top four members of the rotation all in optimal health, and with Kumar Rocker pitching well enough to beat out Jacob Latz for the fifth and final spot, Gomber never made much of a run at securing a starting role while he attended camp as a non-roster invitee. Gomber will serve as organization pitching depth for the Rangers this season and will likely slot into the rotation at Round Rock.
