Horn (elbow) will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Horn has been on the injured list all season while working his way back from an arthroscopic procedure he underwent on his left elbow during the offseason. He was cleared to begin throwing in late May, but progress in his recovery has been slow, so he'll go under the knife once again to address the issue. He'll officially miss the entire 2026 campaign as a result, and the timing of his surgery makes it likely that he'll miss most, if not all, of the 2027 season as well.

Thorpe (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Saturday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Thorpe is inching closer toward a return from the injured list, as he's now reached the final stage of his recovery from April 2025 Tommy John surgery. He'll likely need the entire 30-day rehab window to build up his pitch count and iron out his command and control before the White Sox consider him for a spot in the big-league rotation upon his activation. Thorpe has minor-league options remaining, so he could be sent to Triple-A Charlotte once reinstated if Chicago doesn't have a starting role available to him.

Pereira (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Pereira is in the midst of his second stint of the season on the injured list, this time as the result of a concussion after he previously missed about six weeks due to a right pectoral strain. After being deactivated June 18, Pereira made good progress in his recovery over the All-Star break and has advanced far enough in concussion protocol to test himself in a game setting. Once he's reinstated from the 7-day IL, Pereira will likely fill a short-side platoon role in the Chicago outfield.

Hays (calf) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Hays has been shelved since May 4 due to a left calf strain and was moved to the 60-day injured list in early June after suffering a setback in his rehab assignment. He's made enough progress over the last month to resume playing minor-league games, but given his lengthy stint on the shelf, Hays could require an extended stay at Charlotte before rejoining the White Sox's active roster.

Kolek (personal) will make a rehab start Saturday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Kolek has been on the Family Medical Emergency List since early July. Saturday's rehab outing will likely be his only one, and he could return to the Royals for their next series against the Giants that starts Monday. Kolek went 4-3 across 10 starts in the first half of the regular season, posting a 4.50 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB across 54 innings.

Manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Soroka (glute) is in line to return from the injured list sometime around early August, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

The plan is for Soroka to throw a couple more bullpen sessions Saturday and Tuesday before pitching in a simulated game the following Saturday (July 25). The D-backs have already confirmed the right-hander will make at least one rehab start before returning to the big-league rotation, which will push his next start with Arizona into next month. An exact date for his second-half debut will likely emerge as he continues to check off boxes in his throwing program.

Alexander (hand) does not have a timeline to return from the 10-day injured list, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Alexander landed on the IL on Thursday due to a fractured left hand that he sustained against the Royals this past Sunday. The third baseman will undergo weekly checkups on his left hand and will begin physical activity once the bone heals. Coby Mayo is starting at third base Friday against the Astros, and he should see a bump in playing time at the hot corner for as long as Alexander is on the shelf.

Manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Troy (shoulder) is expected to remain out for roughly 3-to-4 weeks, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

A sprained AC joint in Troy's right shoulder caused him to move to the injured list Wednesday, and it now seems like he won't be able to make it back before the end of the month. The 24-year-old had been getting opportunities to start in center field with Jordan Lawlar (hamstring) on the shelf, but those reps will now likely be passed on to Ryan Waldschmidt and Jorge Barrosa.

Lively (elbow) tossed a live bullpen Wednesday and is scheduled for another session Monday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Lively continues to progress in his recovery from a UCL reconstruction and flexor tendon repair that he underwent in May of 2025. He inked a minor-league contract with the Guardians in mid-February, and it appears he's not far from embarking on a rehab assignment. That means Lively could be available for the Guardians for the final weeks of the 2026 regular season.

Halvorsen (shoulder) threw live batting practice Thursday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Halvorsen is on the mend from shoulder inflammation that sent him to the injured list July 4. He's started to make significant progress after receiving a cortisone injection, and the Rockies are optimistic that he'll be able to begin a rehab assignment in the near future. A more definitive timeline for his return to Colorado's bullpen will likely emerge once he begins pitching in minor-league games.
