Dodgers' Michael Kopech: Placed on injured list

The Dodgers placed Kopech on the 15-day injured list Friday with right knee inflammation.

Renewed inflammation in Kopech's knee will force him back onto the injured list, putting an early end to what was an injury-filled 2025 campaign. Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that the Dodgers will aim to "reset" the 29-year-old while he's on the IL, per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, and the team is optimistic that he'll return sometime during the postseason. In the meantime, Will Klein will come up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the open spot in Los Angeles' bullpen.

Dodgers' Michael Kopech: IL stint likely

Kopech is tending to uncertain physical issues which are expected to require a stint on the injured list, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Kopech didn't say what was bothering him specifically, but he's expected to need some time off to recover. The 29-year-old has endured some control issues recently, having walked eight batters in his last four appearances spanning 2.2 innings. Will Klein is expected to be added to the active roster as the corresponding move.

  • Jung Hoo Lee RF | SF

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Out against southpaw

Lee is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Lee is out of the starting nine for the second time in three games, giving way to Drew Gilbert in center field Friday against Clayton Kershaw. Lee is hitless in his last 20 at-bats.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Set for Monday return

Bogaerts' (foot) on-field workout Friday was rained out, and he is now expected to rejoin the Padres on Monday for the start of a three-game series against Milwaukee, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Bogaerts was on track to return this weekend, but Friday's rainout delayed his progression, and his return date has been pushed back to Monday. The shortstop has been a full participant in baseball activities but is completing a running progression.

  • Jordan Beck LF | COL

Rockies' Jordan Beck: Out of Friday's lineup

Beck isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

The Rockies will give Beck a chance to clear his head Friday after he went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in Thursday's contest. Mickey Moniak, Brenton Doyle and Tyler Freeman will start across the outfield while Beck sits.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: On bench Friday

Edwards (wrist) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Edwards is absent from the starting nine for a sixth consecutive game due to right wrist soreness. Graham Pauley will bat eighth and play second base.

  • Kodai Senga SP | NYM

Mets' Kodai Senga: Takes step back in Triple-A start

Senga allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four across 3.2 innings in a start with Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Senga fanned eight over six innings of one-run ball in his first outing after being demoted to Syracuse, so Thursday's performance was a clear step backward. With Syracuse's season ending Sunday, the plan is for Senga to throw either a simulated game or live batting practice session next, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. It's looking unlikely at this point that Senga will be able to show enough to convince the Mets he should be included on their postseason roster, should they qualify.

  • Phillies' Rafael Lantigua: Returned to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Lantigua to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Lantigua will cede his spot on the 28-man roster to Alec Bohm (shoulder) as Bohm returns from the 10-day injured list. Lantigua didn't appear in a game for the Phillies. He's slashed .233/.360/.334 with seven home runs and 17 stolen bases across 490 plate appearances with Lehigh Valley.

  • Brewer Hicklen RF | ATL

Phillies' Brewer Hicklen: Outrighted to Triple-A

Hicklen cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Hicklen was designated for assignment Tuesday, but he'll remain within the Phillies organization at Triple-A. The outfielder has slashed .218/.288/.437 with eight home runs and seven stolen bases across 132 plate appearances for Lehigh Valley this season.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Makes return from injured list

The Phillies activated Bohm (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Bohm missed the minimum 10 days with a cyst in his left shoulder. He did not go out on a rehab assignment but put in the necessary work to convince the Phillies he was ready to go. With Bohm back in the fold, Otto Kemp could either play some second base versus lefties or shift to a reserve role.
