Joe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Brewers.
Joe returned to the lineup after sitting Monday and has started nine of Pittsburgh's 12 games in May. He's hit .294 with three home runs, seven runs scored and seven RBI in that span, and he lifted his sixth long ball of the season Monday. Jared Triolo SS | PIT
Pirates' Jared Triolo: Struggling in Hayes' absence
Triolo went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Tuesday against the Brewers.
Even with Nick Gonzales in the majors, Triolo has continued to serve as an everyday player for the Pirates while playing third base in the absence of Ke'Bryan Hayes (back). Triolo's playing time is likely to be in jeopardy once Hayes can return, however, as he has only two hits across his last 27 at-bats and has just a .521 OPS in 157 plate appearances for the season.

Padres' Dylan Cease: Pitches well in loss
Cease (5-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Rockies, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out eight over 5.2 innings.

He then ran into some trouble in the sixth, allowing an additional run before being pulled with two outs in the inning and being charged with a third run before the frame concluded. It was just the second time this year Cease has failed to complete six innings and his first since his season debut. The strikeouts continue to pile up, as he's punched out at least eight in four of his last five starts and is second in the majors with 68 over 55 innings. Dating back to April 15, Quantrill has allowed one or fewer runs in five of his six starts and is now down to a 3.66 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 36:20 K:BB in 51.2 innings. He'll look to keep the momentum going, as he tentatively lines up for a road start against the Athletics next week.

He's now working on 5.2 consecutive scoreless innings and has picked up a win, a hold and a save in each of his last three appearances. Kinley still owns an 8.44 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 14:11 K:BB in 16 innings after some pretty rough outings earlier in the year.
