Giants' Jakson Reetz: Sent to Triple-A

The Giants optioned Reetz to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Giants' Tom Murphy: Moved to 60-day IL

The Giants transferred Murphy (knee) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Murphy was given a 4-to-6-week recovery timeline when he landed on the injured list May 5 due to a sprained left knee. However, his move to the 60-day IL will make him ineligible to return until July 4. The Giants signed Curt Casali on Wednesday to fill Murphy's spot on the 40-man roster and provide emergency catcher depth with Patrick Bailey (concussion) also out.

  • Brewers' William Contreras: Drives in four

Contreras went 3-for-5 with a home run, a triple and four total RBI in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Pirates.

While Contreras had gone 18 games without a home run, he's now recorded at least one hit in nine straight contests, going 17-for-36 (.472) in that span. He'll now return to San Francisco on a big-league contract to give the Giants depth behind the plate while Patrick Bailey (concussion) and Tom Murphy (knee) are sidelined.
