  • Blake Snell SP | LAD

Giants' Blake Snell: Returns from paternity list

Snell (personal) was reinstated from the paternity list Sunday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Snell is still awaiting the birth of his baby, despite stepping away from the team for the last three days in anticipation of welcoming a new addition to his family. The left-hander was placed on the paternity list a day after he made his most recent start Wednesday against the Pirates, but he won't end up missing a turn now that he's back on the active roster. He's expected to take the hill Monday against the Phillies, though he could go back on the paternity list during the upcoming week if his child ends up being born.

  • Jacob Young CF | WAS

    Nationals' Jacob Young: Resting Sunday

Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Seattle, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Young will get a break after starting the last seven games at center field while going 6-for-23 with three RBI. With Young and Jesse Winker (quadricep) on the bench, Ildemaro Vargas, Victor Robles and Eddie Rosario will form the Washington outfield from left to right.

  • Gary Sanchez C | MIL

Brewers' Gary Sanchez: Playing time trending up

Sanchez will start at catcher and will bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

He'll be included in the lineup for the fifth time in six games, with three of those starts coming versus left-handed pitching and two coming versus righties. Though William Contreras remains the Brewers' clear top backstop, look for Milwaukee to continue to find room in the lineup for both Contreras and Sanchez between catcher and DH while the latter is continuing to excel at the plate. Over 103 plate appearances on the season, Sanchez is hitting .228 with nine extra-base hits (six home runs, three doubles).

  • Keibert Ruiz C | WAS

Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Getting break Sunday

Ruiz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Ruiz will get a breather after starting the last two games for Washington while going 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI. Riley Adams will fill in at catcher at bat eighth in place of Ruiz.

  • David Peterson SP | CHC

    Mets' David Peterson: Starting Wednesday

The Mets have officially announced Peterson (hip) as the starter for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Peterson underwent surgery for a torn labrum in his left hip this offseason and opened the season on the 60-day injured list, but he'll make his long awaited return on the mound against Los Angeles. The southpaw recorded a 5.03 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with a 128:50 K:BB across 27 appearances (21 starts) last season with the Mets.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Launches ninth homer

Tatis went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Yankees.

Tatis provided the only offense for San Diego on Saturday, launching a solo shot off Luke Weaver in the bottom of the eighth for his ninth home run of the season. The star outfielder has hit safely in seven of his last nine games, though he hasn't registered more than two hits in either of those contests and is still batting just .253 (22-for-87) in May. Tatis has scored and driven in a run in three of his last four games.

  • Robert Gasser SP | MIL

Brewers' Robert Gasser: Not starting Sunday

Gasser won't start Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

The left-hander lined up to start on regular rest Sunday after he allowed four earned runs over six innings Tuesday at Miami, but Tobias Myers will instead receive the nod in Boston. Gasser is now expected to take the mound during the upcoming four-game series versus the Cubs, which begins Monday.

  • Tobias Myers RP | NYM

Brewers' Tobias Myers: Starting Sunday in Boston

Myers will start Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Myers was called up from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday and immediately delivered a scoreless frame that day against Miami. The right-hander started in his previous four MLB appearances this season, and he's now stepping into the rotation spot of Joe Ross (back). Myers has a 5.00 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB across 18 innings for the Brewers this season, and he could receive a couple more turns through the rotation with a solid performance Sunday.

  • Giants' Mike Yastrzemski: Getting breather Sunday

Yastrzemski is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

The lefty-hitting Yastrzemski will take a seat for the series finale while southpaw Sean Manaea takes the hill for the Mets. Ryan McKenna will replace Yastrzemski in right field.

  • Joseph Ortiz SS | MIL

Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Getting Sunday off

Ortiz is out of the lineup for Sunday's matchup against Boston.

Ortiz will get a breather after starting the last eight games at third base, going 9-for-29 with six RBI and one home run in that stretch. Fresh off getting called up from Triple-A Nashville, Oliver Dunn will get the start at third base and bat eighth in place of Ortiz.
