Christian Yelich DH | MIL
Brewers' Christian Yelich: Ends power drought
Yelich went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Cubs.
Yelich's last homer was was April 10. He dealt with a back injury that kept him out of the lineup for nearly a month, and his power was the last part of his game to return. The outfielder has gone 20-for-69 (.290) over 18 contests since he returned from the injured list, though he's logged just six extra-base hits in that span. For the season, Yelich is slashing .306/.390/.546 with six homers, 22 RBI, 19 runs scored, seven stolen bases, four doubles and two triples over 29 contests.

Bryse Wilson RP | MIL
Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Takes no-decision Wednesday
Wilson allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out one over four innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Wednesday.
Wilson was just OK in his return to a starting role after making his last appearance behind an opener. This was the first time all year the right-hander has allowed more than two runs in an outing. He's pitched to a 3.19 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 39:19 K:BB over 48 innings across 14 appearances (seven starts) in 2024. Wilson is projected for a tough road matchup versus the Phillies in his next appearance, though the Brewers haven't revealed if that will be as a starter or a primary pitcher.

Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL
Braves' Reynaldo Lopez: Not starting Thursday
Lopez won't start Thursday's game against the Nationals, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Lopez pitched on four days of rest for the second time all season Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings -- his shortest start of the season. Rather than sending him to the mound after a traditional four-day rest period again, Atlanta will push his next start back and give the ball to Ray Kerr to close out its current series against Washington. The team hasn't yet announced when Lopez's next start will come, though it's possible he simply moves back a day to start Friday's series opener against the Athletics.

Raymond Kerr RP | ATL
Braves' Ray Kerr: Starting Thursday
Kerr will start Thursday's game against the Nationals, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Reynaldo Lopez was originally scheduled to start Thursday's series finale, but Atlanta will instead give Kerr another shot after he allowed five earned runs in four innings during his first MLB start last Friday in Pittsburgh. The 29-year-old southpaw owns a 5.40 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 13.1 innings this season and has never pitched more than four innings in a game throughout his career.

Jesus Sanchez DH | ARI
Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Homers Wednesday
Sanchez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Padres.
Sanchez extended Miami's lead to 7-1 in the sixth inning, launching a 412-foot solo shot off Enyel De Los Santos. It's the first homer for Sanchez since April 24 and his third of the season. The 26-year-old outfielder is now slashing .230/.285/.309 through 166 plate appearances with 19 RBI, 12 runs scored and six stolen bases.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Braves' Joey Wendle: Outrighted to Gwinnett
Wendle cleared waivers Wednesday and was sent outright to Triple-A Gwinnett, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Wendle signed a big-league contract with Atlanta on Friday, but he was DFA'd three days later without playing in a game and will now join the team's Triple-A affiliate. The 34-year-old infielder has played in 18 games this season for the Mets, slashing .222/.243/.250 across 37 plate appearances.

Nick Gordon CF | BAL
Marlins' Nick Gordon: Swipes two bags in win
Gordon went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 9-1 win over San Diego.
Gordon had gone just 1-for-15 with no stolen bases in seven games coming into Wednesday's contest. He's now slashing .230/.260/.374 on the year with five homers, 18 RBI and 15 runs scored while going 5-for-7 in stolen base attempts. Gordon should continue to serve as the Marlins' primary left fielder against right-handed pitching.

Braxton Garrett RP | CHC
Marlins' Braxton Garrett: Earns second straight win
Garrett (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Padres, allowing a run on six hits over five innings. He struck out two.
A Ha-Seong Kim homer in the third inning was the lone damage against Garrett, as the left-hander earned a second straight win -- he's allowed just one run on nine hits over 14 innings in that span after allowing 11 runs in his first two outings this season. Garrett's ERA is down to 4.56 with a 1.06 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB through his first 23.2 innings this year. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Rays in his next start.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Nationals' Nick Senzel: Suffers knee injury
Senzel was removed from Wednesday's win over Atlanta after fouling a ball off his right knee in the second inning, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
The 28-year-old initially remained in the game to finish off his at-bat, drawing a walk before Ildemaro Vargas entered as a pinch runner. All imaging done on Senzel's knee came back negative after the game, per Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com, and the Nationals are hoping the 28-year-old will be able to return to the field for Thursday's series finale. However, if he isn't able to play Thursday, Vargas would likely step in as Washington's starting third baseman.

Cody Bellinger LF | NYY
Cubs' Cody Bellinger: Steals first base of 2024
Bellinger went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-6 loss to the Brewers. He also stole a base.
The stolen base was notable because it's the first of the season for Bellinger, though he did miss some time with a fractured ribcage, which could have cut into his running. He had a career-high 20 steals last year as he reached the 20-20 plateau for the first time in seven MLB campaigns. Bellinger hasn't been quite as effective so far in 2024, though he's batting a solid .262 with a .774 OPS, and the 28-year-old has the talent to start racking up the counting stats in a hurry.
