Marco Gonzales RP | TEX
Pirates' Marco Gonzales: Decent in defeat
Gonzales (1-1) took the loss Sunday against Philadelphia, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk across 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
Both runs against Gonzales came in the second inning, when he allowed a leadoff single to Alec Bohm and a double to Edmundo Sosa to put two runners in scoring position with one out. Weston Wilson brought in Bohm on a sacrifice fly, then Garrett Stubbs plated Sosa on a base hit. While Gonzales hasn't been dominant in his two starts since being activated from the injured list, he's been reliable, yielding three runs on 13 hits and one walk across 9.2 innings. The 32-year-old is slated to face the Diamondbacks in Arizona next weekend.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Clubs 14th homer
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-2 loss to Atlanta.
Goldschmidt entered the contest with no hits in 12 at-bats over the previous three games and was dropped to seventh in the St. Louis batting order, the lowest he's hit in a game since the 2012 season. He broke out of his funk in the second inning, when he clubbed his 14th home run of the season to put the Cardinals on the board. However, the long ball was the only hit of the day for the veteran first baseman, who also struck out twice. Goldschmidt is currently on pace to finish with career-low marks in average (.225), on-base percentage (.287) and slugging percentage (.372), and he's also maintaining his highest strikeout rate (28.9 percent) since his rookie season.

Spencer Schwellenbach P | ATL
Braves' Spencer Schwellenbach: Fans eight, allows three homers
Schwellenbach (3-5) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits over six innings against the Cardinals. He struck out eight.
Schwellenbach struck out a career-best eight batters but also allowed a career-high three homers in taking the loss Sunday. He allowed solo blasts in each of the second, third and fourth innings, each coming with two outs. Schwellenbach has been a steady contributor since joining the Atlanta rotation at the end of May. Over his last seven starts, the rookie right-hander has completed six innings or more five times, posting a 3.73 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP with 40 strikeouts over 41 innings. His next start is tentatively slated to take place in Queens when Atlanta travels to take on the Mets.

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Quality start leads to eighth win
Mikolas (8-8) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings against Atlanta. He struck out three.
Mikolas allowed single runs in the third and fifth but otherwise held Atlanta at bay in picking up his eighth win of the season. Mikolas allowed a season-high four homers in his previous outing but rebounded by collecting his 12th quality start of the season and his third in four appearances. The veteran righty has been up and down this season with 10 outings of two or fewer runs allowed to go along with six appearances of five or more. He'll take an ERA of 5.02 and a WHIP of 1.23 into his next start, scheduled to take place in St. Louis against the Nationals.

Kris Bryant RF | COL
Rockies' Kris Bryant: Rehab stint going well
Bryant (oblique) has gone 6-for-11 with two home runs across three games with Triple-A Albuquerque.
Bryant has had another frustrating season dominated by injuries, as he's hit just .186 with a .586 OPS in 101 plate appearances. His current form suggests he should be nearing a return from the injured list, most likely at some point during the Rockies' upcoming weekend series in San Francisco.
-
Jake Cave LF | COL
Rockies' Jake Cave: Productive start to second half
Cave went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and a stolen base Sunday against the Giants.
Cave has served in a large-side platoon role for much of the last two months, and he's maintained a .258 batting average for the season. His production has otherwise been mostly empty, though he went yard Friday as a pinch hitter to tally his third home run and also recorded his fourth stolen base of the year Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Tallies seventh homer
Rodgers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Giants.
Rodgers accounted for all of Colorado's offense with his seventh home run of the season. Despite playing in Coors Field for nine of his 16 games in July, he has hit just .197 with two home runs, four RBI and seven runs scored for the month.

Max Meyer SP | MIA
Marlins' Max Meyer: Strikes out seven in Triple-A start
Meyer started and covered 3.1 innings for Triple-A Jacksonville in Saturday's 3-2 win over Durham, striking out seven while allowing one earned run on six hits and one walk.
The Marlins will need a fifth starter for the first time in the second half Tuesday versus the Orioles, but Meyer's appearance for the Triple-A club over the weekend takes him out of the mix for a call-up. Meyer could still be promoted to the big leagues at some point in the near future, but the Marlins have thus far been reluctant to tip their hand regarding when exactly their top pitching prospect might return to the majors. The right-hander broke camp with the big club and turned in a 2.12 ERA and 0.82 WHIP in 17 innings over his first three starts, but he was demoted to Triple-A on April 15 and has remained there ever since. He posted underwhelming numbers in his first two months at Jacksonville while sticking to a strict once-a-week pitching schedule, but he's settled in nicely since the beginning of July, logging a 0.95 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 23:6 K:BB over 19 innings.

Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Avoids major injury
Rojas appears to have avoided a serious injury to his right forearm in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Red Sox, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Rojas left the game following the third inning with right forearm tightness, which he believes is the result of taking one-handed swings with a heavy bat during the All-Star break. Rojas doesn't believe that the injury is anything worrisome, something that manager Dave Roberts echoed following the contest, saying that the infielder won't require an MRI and might be "down a couple days." Rojas is expected to miss Monday's series opener against the Giants, but he can be viewed as day-to-day thereafter.
