Giants' Heliot Ramos: Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Ramos (thumb) is starting in center field and batting third Tuesday against the Athletics.
The 24-year-old missed one game after he suffered the thumb injury Saturday but is back in the starting nine following Monday's team off day. Ramos has a .289/.319/.511 slash line with five homers, 16 RBI and eight runs through 22 games in July.

Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | MIL
Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Remains out of lineup
Bae (knee) is not in the Pirates' lineup Tuesday versus the Astros.
Bae experienced left knee discomfort in Monday's game against the Astros following a sixth-inning bunt attempt, and he was forced to exit the contest. In his absence Tuesday, Michael Taylor is starting in center field and batting ninth.

Brenton Doyle CF | CHW
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Doyle (finger) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
The 26-year-old departed Sunday's contest with a bruised right index finger and will be out of the starting nine for at least one game. Sam Hilliard will start in center field in place of Doyle on Tuesday.

Seth Johnson RP | ATH
Phillies' Seth Johnson: Traded to Phillies
The Orioles traded Johnson to Philadelphia on Tuesday in exchange for Gregory Soto, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Through 18 starts with Double-A Bowie, Johnson has recorded a 2.63 ERA and 1.32 WHIP through 65 innings this year. It's likely he heads to Double-A Reading to begin his tenure with the Phillies, though a promotion to Triple-A Lehigh Valley could come in the near future if the 25-year-old righty continues at his current pace.

Davis Wendzel 1B | PIT
Reds' Davis Wendzel: Sent to Reds
The Rangers traded Wendzel to the Reds for cash considerations Tuesday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
Wendzel lost his 40-man spot with Texas on Monday after being designated for assignment to make room for Josh Jung's (wrist) reinstatement from the injured list. He's projected to begin his tenure with the Reds organization at the Triple-A level.

Martin Perez SP | ATL
Padres' Martin Perez: Sent to San Diego
The Padres acquired Perez from the Pirates on Tuesday in exchange for left-hander Ronaldys Jimenez, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Perez will claim the fifth spot in San Diego's rotation, as the team had been using a four-man setup prior to Tuesday's trade deadline. The 33-year-old southpaw has struggled mightily since returning from the injured list in late June, putting up a 6.31 ERA and 1.87 WHIP across 25.2 innings.

Dylan Floro RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Dylan Floro: Snagged by Snakes
Floro was traded from the Nationals to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday in exchange for Andres Chaparro, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
The 33-year-old righty had a 2.06 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 40 strikeouts in 52.1 innings with the Nationals. While Floro has 32 career saves, he should assume a mid-leverage role with his new team.
-
Shawn Armstrong RP | CLE
Cardinals' Shawn Armstrong: Acquired by St. Louis
The Cardinals acquired Armstrong from the Rays on Tuesday in exchange for outfielder Dylan Carlson, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Armstrong was dominant in 2023 with a 1.38, 0.90 WHIP and 54:11 K:BB over 52 innings, but he's labored this season with 5.40 ERA in 38 appearances. The right-hander should primarily work in middle relief for the Cardinals.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Giants' Mark Canha: Heading to San Francisco
The Tigers traded Canha to the Giants on Tuesday in exchange for pitching prospect Eric Silva, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Canha is returning to the Bay Area after spending the first seven years of his career in Oakland, but this time he's bound for the other side of the Bay. He was a good bet to be dealt before the deadline, hence his omission from the starting lineup for the Tigers in Tuesday's game versus the Guardians. In July, the 35-year-old has slashed .250/.344/.385 with one home run. Canha has started 31 games at first base, 33 in the outfield and 31 as the designated hitter this season. The Giants recently parted with Jorge Soler, who started in 92 games at DH, in a trade with Atlanta, potentially opening up a path to regular playing time for Canha.

Andres Chaparro 1B | WAS
Nationals' Andres Chaparro: Traded to Nationals
Chaparro was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Nationals on Tuesday in exchange for Dylan Floro, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Chaparro became a prospect of note with the Yankees from 2019 through 2022, but he had a down year in 2023 at Triple-A (90 wRC+, .247/.331/.444 slash line) and joined the Diamondbacks on a minor-league deal this past offseason. The 25-year-old corner infielder did much better in his second year at Triple-A, slashing .332/.403/.564 with 19 home runs and a 17.6 percent strikeout rate in 95 games in the Pacific Coast League. He could get an audition with the rebuilding Nationals down the stretch.
