Jones is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

With southpaw Chris Sale taking the ball for Atlanta, the left-handed hitting Jones will begin this one on the bench. Jordan Beck will patrol left field for the Rockies in the series opener.

McMahon is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

It's lefty Chris Sale on the bump for Atlanta, so it's a good spot for the left-handed hitting McMahon to get a breather. Aaron Schunk will play third base and bat ninth for the Rockies.

Betts went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, three runs and three RBI in an 11-6 win over Arizona on Monday.

Betts singled home Los Angeles' first run with a third-inning single and added a two-run double in the eighth. The star right fielder has been very productive of late, knocking in at least one run in nine of his past 12 contests and tallying 14 total RBI over that span. Betts has added two homers, four doubles, nine runs, three steals and a .261/.321/.478 slash line during the 12-game stretch.

The Marlins claimed Bachar off waivers from the Padres on Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Bachar was designated for assignment by the Padres over the weekend without having made an appearance with the big club. The 29-year-old right-hander has collected a 3.89 ERA and 85:32 K:BB over 71.2 innings this season at Triple-A El Paso.

Ohtani went 2-for-4 with two walks, two runs and three stolen bases in Monday's 11-6 victory versus Arizona.

Ohtani was in full leadoff-hitter mode Monday, reaches four times without an extra-base hit and running wild on the bases. The superstar slugger has been a terror on the basepaths for over five weeks, going a perfect 22-of-22 on theft attempts over his past 34 contests. Ohtani has added 13 home runs, 24 RBI, 30 runs and 15 walks during that span, and with 44 long balls and 46 steals on the season, his pursuit of MLB's first ever 50-50 campaign is well within reach.

Tatis went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Monday's 3-0 win against Detroit.

Tatis was activated from the injured list prior to the contest after missing over two months due to a stress reaction in his right femur. He started in right field and batted second for San Diego. Though Tatis didn't reach base in the contest, his presence in the lineup should be a boost to the Padres as they try to make a push for the NL West title.

Lowder is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Astros in Cincinnati.

The 22-year-old right-hander will stick around with the big club for at least one more turn through the rotation after making his MLB debut this past Friday versus Milwaukee in the second game of a doubleheader. He struck out six batters across four innings against the Brewers, giving up one earned run on two hits and four walks. Though he issued four free passes in his debut outing, control had been a strong suit for Lowder across his three stops in the minors this season, as he had walked just 5.4 percent of the batters he faced.

Lynn (knee) gave up five earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight over 3.2 innings in his rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Memphis.

After tossing a pair of live batting practice sessions, Lynn was able to handle a healthy workload in his rehab outing for Memphis, tossing 80 pitches (54 strikes). Though Lynn seems to be fully stretched out and healthy again after landing on the injured list July 31 with right knee inflammation, the Cardinals may want to see a sharper performance from the 37-year-old in the minors before adding him back to the big-league rotation. The Cardinals have already announced their starting pitchers through Sunday, so Lynn seems likely to make another rehab start or throw a simulated game before returning from the IL, perhaps at some point early next week.

Ynoa (elbow/shoulder) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

After missing the 2023 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, Ynoa opened the 2024 campaign at full health and occupied a spot in Triple-A Gwinnett's rotation, only to be shut down in mid-April with elbow inflammation before he hurt his shoulder in August during a rehab assignment. He's been cleared for game action again and will hope to ramp back up in time to rejoin Gwinnett before the International League season ends. Ynoa is currently on Atlanta's 60-day injured list, but he'll almost certainly get optioned to Gwinnett once he completes his rehab assignment.

The Marlins outrighted Bermudez to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Bermudez is no longer on the team's 40-man roster but will remain in the organization as a depth arm. The lefty has been used primarily as a starter at Jacksonville, so he could get stretched back out after most recently working out of the bullpen with the big club.
