Iglesias (5-1) picked up the win Sunday over the Blue Jays, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk over two innings of relief. He struck out one.

The Atlanta closer entered a tie game in the top of the 10th inning with a save chance no longer on the table, and while Iglesias allowed the phantom runner to score in the 11th, his offense walked it off in the bottom of that frame. Iglesias hasn't been tagged with an earned run since June 16, and on the season he sports a dazzling 1.18 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 62:11 K:BB through 61 innings. He's three saves shy of tying his career high of 34, a mark he reached in both 2019 and 2021.

Blackburn (hand) is no longer in line to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Monday's game in Toronto, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The Mets will give a spot start to Tylor Megill instead. Blackburn could be pushed back a day to start Tuesday in Toronto, though the team has not yet confirmed as much. He has missed the last two weeks with a right hand bruise but tossed 6.2 innings of one-run ball in a rehab start with Triple-A Syracuse last week.

Megill will start Monday's game in Toronto, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Paul Blackburn (hand) had been slated to come off the 15-day injured list to start Monday, but the Mets have elected to give the ball to Megill instead. Megill will be pitching on normal rest after yielding three runs over four innings in a start last week against the Red Sox. He could be moved to the bullpen following Monday's outing.

Tinoco has turned in a 1.47 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB while collecting one win and five holds over 18.1 innings across 15 appearances out of the bullpen since the Marlins claimed him off waivers from the Cubs on July 30.

Tabbed to fill one of the openings in the bullpen that was created by the Marlins' fire sale ahead of the trade deadline, Tinoco has arguably performed better with Miami than any of the relievers (Tanner Scott, Bryan Hoeing, A.J. Puk, Huascar Brazoban and JT Chargois) that were dealt away. A 29-year-old journeyman who owns a modest 3.82 ERA over 74 career MLB appearances, Tinoco attributes part of his newfound success in Miami to his increased usage of a slider that he revamped while pitching overseas in Japan in 2023, per Kevin Barral of FishOnFirst.com. Tinoco has quickly moved into a high-leverage role out of the Marlins bullpen, and he could now get a chance to pick up saves down the stretch after incumbent closer Calvin Faucher (shoulder) landed on the injured list Saturday. John McMillon and Anthony Bender loom as potential challengers for closing duties.

Cronin (undisclosed) struck out two batters and collected a hold across two perfect innings of relief in his first two appearances of September on Wednesday and Saturday.

Cronin was lifted during an extended relief appearance Aug. 29 in Colorado due to an apparent injury, but he returned to action just under a week later to remove any lingering concern about his health. The 26-year-old righty has picked up four of his six holds on the season in the past month and could be primed to pitch in more high-leverage situations down the stretch with Calvin Faucher (shoulder) recently joining Andrew Nardi (elbow) on the shelf.

Weathers (finger) covered 2.2 innings in his second rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Jacksonville, striking out five while giving up four runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks.

After making his first rehab start at Single-A Jupiter this past Tuesday, Weathers jumped up a few rungs on the minor-league ladder for his second outing. He tossed 64 pitches (39 strikes) in the appearance, but the Marlins have yet to decide on Weathers' next step. He'll presumably be evaluated over the next day or two before Miami decides whether he'll be ready to return from the 60-day injured list to make his next start with the Marlins, or if he'll remain on assignment in the minors for one more outing.

Peralta (10-8) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against Colorado.

Peralta coughed up a home run to Hunter Goodman in the third inning and was charged with two more runs when Sam Hilliard took Hoby Milner deep for a three-run blast in the fifth. It was Peralta's first loss since Aug. 12; he entered Sunday's start with a 1.61 ERA and a 3-0 record over his previous four starts. Peralta still generated an impressive 18 swinging strikes despite his lackluster outing. He'll carry a 3.81 ERA into his next matchup, which is lined up to be in Arizona.

Kinley struck out one batter in a perfect inning and earned a save against Milwaukee on Sunday.

Kinley retired the Brewers' 2-3-4 hitters in order to close out the 4-1 victory. Since coughing up four runs against the Marlins on Aug. 27, he's converted four straight save chances without allowing a run. He's now 11-for-12 in save chances with a 5.98 ERA and a 68:31 K:BB through 61.2 innings, though it's worth noting that teammate Victor Vodnik (biceps), who has nine saves this season, was activated from the 15-day injured list Sunday.

Freeland (5-7) allowed one unearned run on three hits over six innings Sunday, striking out four and earning a win over the Brewers.

Freeland coughed up a run in the first inning but allowed only one other runner to reach scoring position for the remainder of his outing. He's allowed two or fewer earned runs in four straight starts, producing a 1.90 ERA during that span. he improved his season K:BB to 76:24 through 96 innings and has not walked a batter in two straight outings. Freeland owns a 4.97 ERA on the year, but without factoring in his first two starts of 2024, he's registered a 3.59 ERA over his last 16 starts. His next appearance is lined up to be at home against the Cubs.

The Padres are mulling the possibility of moving Bogaerts back to shortstop as Ha-Seong Kim's (shoulder) progress stalls, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Bogaerts has expressed a desire to remain at second base now that he's become comfortable there, but on Sunday he seemed to be amendable to a move back to shortstop if it meant getting Donovan Solano's bat in the lineup. The 31-year-old moved to shortstop mid-game Sunday versus the Giants after the Padres pinch-hit for shortstop Mason McCoy when they were trailing by five runs at the time. Bogaerts has now been used at shortstop four times this season but has not made a start there.
